  • Publication number: 20160292325
Abstract: A cleansing system for improving operation of a plant. A server is coupled to the cleansing system for communicating with the plant via a communication network. A computer system has a web-based platform for receiving and sending plant data related to the operation of the plant over the network. A display device interactively displays the plant data. A data cleansing unit is configured for performing an enhanced data cleansing process for allowing an early detection and diagnosis of the operation of the plant based on at least one environmental factor. The data cleansing unit calculates and evaluates an offset amount representing a difference between a measurement and a simulation for detecting an error of measurement during the operation of the plant based on the plant data.

Abstract: A management system for improving operation of a plant. A server is coupled to the management system for communicating with the plant via a communication network. A computer system has a web-based platform for receiving and sending plant data related to the operation of the plant over the network. A display device interactively displays the plant data. An optimization unit is configured for optimizing at least a portion of a refining or petrochemical process of the plant by acquiring the plant data from the plant on a recurring basis, analyzing the plant data for completeness, correcting the plant data for an error. The optimization unit corrects the plant data for a measurement issue and an overall mass balance closure, and generates a set of reconciled plant data based on the corrected plant data.

  • Publication number: 20150286626
Abstract: A simulation system includes at least one processor configured to execute a computer program product, stored upon a storage medium. The computer program product includes a database application, a process simulation application, and an integration tool, where the database application and the process simulation application are discrete, stand alone products. The process simulation application can simulate industry processes using at least one flowsheet, which models a general flow of industry processes. The integration tool can map process simulation application objects and properties to database application objects, can convey information between mapped objects, can perform case management functions, and can perform orchestrated calculation functions.

  • Patent number: 9053260
Abstract: A simulation system includes at least one processor configured to execute a computer program product, stored upon a storage medium. The computer program product includes a spreadsheet application, a process simulation application, and an integration tool (e.g., eSim), where the spreadsheet application and the process simulation application are discrete, stand alone products. The process simulation application can simulate chemical processes using at least one flowsheet, which models a general flow of chemical plant processes and equipment. The integration tool can map process simulation application objects and properties to spreadsheet application objects, can convey information between mapped objects, can perform case management functions, and can perform orchestrated calculation functions.

  • Patent number: 8326789
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of troubleshooting process issues using an Expert System. More specifically, the invention involves transmitting, to an Expert System, Remote Performance Management (RPM) data based on Distributed Control System (DCS) information and subsequently translating the RPM data. The Expert System determines a solution along with an associated confidence level. The Expert System may prioritize the solution and simultaneously signal the DCS to automatically implement the transmitted solution.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to troubleshooting process issues using an Expert System. Remote Performance Management (RPM) data based on Distributed Control System (DCS) information is transmitted to an Expert System and subsequently translated. The Expert System determines a solution along with an associated confidence level. The Expert System may prioritize the solution an in so doing, signal the DCS to automatically implement the transmitted solution.
