    Abstract: Particles, such as seeds, are coated with a treatment agent by being introduced into a rotating cylindrical drum into which the treatment agent is supplied. A pair of screw conveyors is disposed within the drum and arranged to rotate about respective axes oriented parallel to the axis of rotation of the drum. One of the screw conveyors rotates in the same direction as the drum, and the other screw conveyor rotates in the opposite direction to achieve a rolling motion of the particles as they are axially advanced along the drum.
