  • Patent number: 11043176
Abstract: A redundant display uses row and column drivers to control an active matrix of transistors arranged in a pixel array. Row drivers arranged on respective sides of the pixel array control the voltage across entire rows of the pixel array in tandem. One or more sets of column drivers control the voltage across columns of the pixel array. One or more columns of switching elements are disposed between left and right portions of the pixel array. During normal operation, the column of switching elements connects left row portions with right row portions, such that an image is displayed across the entire pixel array. Responsive to a malfunction of row drivers on one side of the pixel array, the column of switching elements isolates the left row portions from the right row portions, such that the image may be displayed only on the other side of the pixel array.

  • Publication number: 20180136787
Abstract: An optical touch panel includes an emitter light guide that receives and traps light from a light source. The optical touch panel also includes a collector light guide. Responsive to pressure being applied to the emitter light guide in at least one location that corresponds to at least one location on a display positioned underneath the light guides, optical coupling occurs between the emitter light guide and the collector light guide. The optical coupling causes light trapped in the emitter light guide to escape and be collected by the collector light guide. At least one optical sensor detects the collected light and determines the location at which pressure is applied to the emitter light guide that corresponds to the location on the display based on the detected collected light. The optical sensor may also determine the force of the pressure applied.

  • Patent number: 9588034
Abstract: An apparatus and method for performing permeation testing on materials used in personal protective equipment is described. Two or more test cells are loaded with swatches of material and inserted into the testing apparatus. Chemicals to be tested on the material are loaded into one or more syringes and may be introduced into the top of the test cells as a liquid or a vapor. Vapor is collected from the bottom of the test cells, underneath the swatches of material, and tested for concentration of the chemicals being tested. The apparatus and method facilitates instantaneous breakthrough analysis, control of the sample environment and ease of operator use and calibration.

  • Publication number: 20160307248
Abstract: An example method, set of machine readable instructions stored on a storage device, and computer system, each adapted for determining an acceptable offer price for a product or service are described herein. In the method, a reserve price is set for a desired product or service that is displayed to a user. Upon receiving an offer on the product or service by the user, a given fee may be billed to the user in response thereto. Upon the input of the offer, a determination is made as to whether or not it meets or exceeds the set reserve price. If the offer amount is less than the reserve price, the reserve price is automatically lowered by a given amount, otherwise the offered amount input by the user for the desired product or service is accepted.

  • Patent number: 9177603
Abstract: In a method of assembling an enhanced media content narrative, a navigation grid is initially defined by program name, chapter name and sub-chapter names. The grid is populated with program element file names, and the content is associated with the element file names in each chapter/sub-chapter. An automated toolbar is created for the grid matrix and combined with introductory content to provide an enhanced media content narrative for playback by a viewer.

  • Publication number: 20110083875
Abstract: An EXTERIOR UTILITY GUARD that is a protector and or shield for low voltage irrigation wire and more particularly to protect the wires from lawn equipment, particularly weed and grass trimmers. It is made of heavy gauge metal, 14 gauge steel, to withstand repeated blows from weed and grass trimmers. It is long enough (16? + or ?) to extend both into and above ground level to protect the low voltage wires from the strike zone of weed and grass trimmers. It is designed with three elongated slots at the bottom to accommodate low voltage wires. It has four holes at the top sides to accommodate a mounting bracket. It is designed so it can be mounted over the irrigation wires and or PCV pipe without having to disconnect the wires from the control box. This design will reduce installation labor and cost.
