  • Publication number: 20070275890
Abstract: Methods of use of Chaperonin 10 (Cpn10) are provided for regulating Toll-like receptor signaling and/or Toll-like receptor inducible immunomodulator secretion. Cpn10 negatively regulates Toll-like receptor agonist-induced pro-inflammatory cytokine and chemokine secretion, examples being IL-6 and RANTES, respectively. Cpn10 positively regulates Toll-like receptor agonist-induced anti-inflammatory cytokine and chemokine secretion, an example being IL-10. These immunoregulatory activities of Cpn10 may be useful in the treatment of diseases, disorders and conditions resulting from excessive pro-inflammatory cytokine and chemokine secretion. This invention also relates to producing, designing and/or screening Cpn10 agonists and antagonists according to their ability to regulate Toll-like receptor signaling and/or Toll-like receptor inducible immunomodulator secretion.

  • Patent number: 7296670
Abstract: A disconnect mechanism is provided which, upon a suitable trigger event, such as excess temperature causes a camming element 40 having a tapered head 52 to move under the urging of a compression spring 60 such that the tapered head 52 becomes trapped between a rotating element 32 and a support 42. This gives rise to frictional inter-engagement which prevents further rotation of the rotating element 32 and thereby locks the rotating machine against further rotation. This is turn causes the shear region to fail thereby drivingly disconnecting the machine from its prime mover.

  • Publication number: 20070199063
Abstract: A limited-use browser and related security system control access to content stored on a server computer linked to a network. The security system secures the content on the server and only permits it to be downloaded to a client computer running the limited-user browser or a general purpose browser executing an add-in security module providing the same functions as the limited-user browser. The limited-use browser or module secures the downloaded content on the client computer and displays it in a “view-only” mode. While the secured content is being displayed, menu selections, key combination, or pointing device commands initiated on the client computer that would modify the content or create a copy of another medium are either disabled as a default or monitored to determine if the action is permitted.

  • Publication number: 20060183083
Abstract: A computer based simulation system for virtual training for vehicle crews is disclosed. The vehicle crew training system (VCTS) simulates crew positions for different military vehicles. Two or more crewman modules are networked together to support a partial or full vehicle crew. The crewman modules are self-contained devices that are modular in hardware and software design, easily reconfigurable, and that require minimal facility space, allowing use in restricted environments such as trailers. The VCTS is modular at the crew position level; crewman modules are added or deleted as required to meet a particular training need. One of the crewman modules can be a gunner module, which provides an unrestricted view of the simulated environment to the gunner by means of a display and a simulated vehicle-mounted weapon.

  • Publication number: 20060163996
Abstract: A broad area field electron emitter comprises a plurality of emitter cells of layered structure. Each cell comprises a hole having a layer of field electron emission material 501 at its base. A gate electrode 503 is spaced from the emitter layer 501 by a dielectric material 502 having a first region in contact with the emitter layer 501 and a second region in contact with the gate electrode 503. The cell diameter is greater at the level of the gate 503 than at the level of the emitter layer 501, thus enabling electrons in electron beam 505 and emitted from sites adjacent to the side walls of the cell to avoid interception by the gate 503 at point 506. This reduces cell-wall charge between the first and second regions of dielectric material 502, and other means for achieving this are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7059896
Abstract: The configurable adapter uses a relatively few components which allow it to be configured to have different heights to fit different switchboard cases. It includes a bracket designed to hold a particular type of meter or power monitor, with different brackets available to be assembled as a component of the configurable adapter. A new class of electricity revenue meters called a narrow base socket meter is described, and shown. The narrow base socket meter is adapted from a conventional socket meter which has a sufficiently narrow body by trimming its sides, top, and/or bottom, as necessary, to fit within the switchboard adapter, using a bracket which places the meter within the switchboard adapter so that its face can be flush with (or barely stick out from) the face of the switchboard. The adapter can also be used with standard socket base meters, which will stick out of the front of the switchboard panel, as well as with power monitoring devices by using suitable brackets, as described.

  • Patent number: 6974653
Abstract: Methods for using critical dimension test marks (test marks) for the rapid determination of the best focus position of lithographic processing equipment and critical dimension measurement analysis across a wafer's surface are described. In a first embodiment, a plurality of test mark arrays are distributed across the surface of a wafer, a different plurality being created at a plurality of focus positions. Measurement of the length or area of the resultant test marks allows for the determination of the best focus position of the processing equipment. Critical dimension measurements at multiple points on a wafer with test marks allow for the determination of process accuracy and repeatability and further allows for the real-time detection of process degradation. Using test marks which require only a relatively simple optical scanner and sensor to measure their length or area, it is possible to measure hundreds of measurement values across a wafer in thirty minutes.
