  • Patent number: 11894166
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a method of producing a surge arrestor module, comprising the acts of (i) providing a plurality of MOV blocks arranged in a stack, (ii) applying an epoxy-reinforced structural layer to an outer surface of the stack, (iii) after the applying, inserting the stack into a flexible bladder, and (iv) curing the epoxy-reinforced structural layer with elevated temperatures while the flexible bladder applies radially aligned pressure to the stack and a tool applies axially aligned pressure to the stack. The present disclosure also includes an apparatus for performing the methods described herein. The apparatus includes an outer case structure and a flexible bladder that fits within the outer case structure. A hollow inner region of the outer case structure is pressurized to force the flexible bladder against the surge arrestor module as the surge arrestor module is curing.

  • Publication number: 20240030647
Abstract: An elbow connector receives a cable assembly having a lug with a lug aperture. The elbow connector includes a receiving cavity for the lug and a fastener assembly. The fastener assembly has a latch, a spring, and a fastener. The fastener moves toward the lug. The latch has a bumper for engaging the lug and an obstruction element for engaging the fastener. The latch pivots between (i) a blocking position in which the obstruction element inhibits a certain movement of the fastener, and (ii) a non-blocking position in which the obstruction element is free of the fastener allowing the fastener to be fastened to the lug via the lug aperture. The latch is biased toward the blocking position by the spring and transitions to the non-blocking position in response to the lug moving the bumper to a position at which the lug aperture is aligned with the fastener.

  • Publication number: 20210269291
Abstract: A system, device, and method for improved cable tensioning of intrinsically safe horizontal cable tensioning. A frame having a worm gear operatively associated with both a moveable shaft and a drum in such a way that in an engaged position a rotational motion applied to the worm gear is transferred to the drum, wherein the moveable shaft is movable between a disengaged position and the engaged position, rotationally locking together the drum and the worm gear so that the drum will not rotate until the rotational motion is applied to the worm gear; and a strap operatively associated with the drum. The strap associates with the cable in need of tensioning.
