Abstract: A data storage system may connect a non-volatile memory to a quarantine module that generates a quarantine strategy in response to a pending data access request to the non-volatile memory. The quarantine strategy can proactively prescribing a plurality of status levels for physical data addresses of the non-volatile memory. A comparison of a volume of errors for the non-volatile memory to a first threshold of the quarantine strategy with the quarantine module may prompt the alteration of a first status level of the plurality of status levels for a first physical data address of the non-volatile memory, as directed by the quarantine strategy.

Abstract: A solid-state memory may have many non-individually erasable memory cells arranged into calibration groups with each memory cell in each respective calibration group using a common set of read voltages to sense programmed states. An evaluation circuit of the solid-state memory may be configured to measure at least one read parameter for each calibration group responsive to read operations carried out upon the memory cells in the associated calibration group. An adjustment circuit of the solid-state memory may redistribute the memory cells of an existing calibration group into at least one new calibration group in response to the at least one measured read parameter.

Abstract: A vent filter for a cooking appliance is disclosed. The vent filter is user-replaceable once it has been spent or its filtration capacity consumed. In disclosed embodiments, the filter is provided in or as part of a cartridge that can be reversibly installed and removed from the appliance without tools. Retention structure is disclosed for holding the filter media in place in a filter receptacle communicating with or formed as part of the exhaust duct of the appliance for air to be filtered. In embodiments, the filter is configured as a recirculating filter to remove odor-causing contaminants, among other contaminants, from cooking fumes before the air from those fumes is recirculated into the kitchen or other ambient environment.

Abstract: A method of filtering a plurality of DNS queries, wherein each DNS query includes a query name and a resource record type, includes defining a filter rule including a domain name, a filter type, and a throttle percentage and forming a filter file including the filter rule. The method also includes transmitting the filter file from a server to a plurality of filter proxies, transmitting the filter file from each of the plurality of filter proxies to one or more processing engines, and receiving the plurality of DNS queries at one of the one or more processing engines. The method includes determining a match between the domain name and the query name and between the resource record type and the filter type for a subset of the plurality of DNS queries, and blocking a predetermined percentage (equal to the throttle percentage) of the subset of the plurality of DNS queries.

The network components may also include a Network Attached Storage device, an On-Demand Ad Hoc Network service provider, a Local Load Balancer, a Global Load Balancer, a Multi-Protocol Reverse Proxy, a Forward Proxy, a Secure Socket Layer Virtual Private Network Appliance, and/or a Network Optimizer Appliance. The apparatus also includes one or more routers that provide the only external connectivity to the apparatus, and a switch through which some or all of the network components communicate. The apparatus may be made part of a network of like apparatuses, where each router of each of the apparatuses executes electronic instructions for providing an on-demand private network with the other apparatuses. Abstract: A vertical adjustment apparatus is described for use in the field of workstation design. The vertical adjustment apparatus is attachable to a workstation and operates to selectively raise and lower a device, such as a keyboard, such that the device may be utilized by a user in a seated position, as well by the user in a standing position, such that the apparatus allows the device to be elevated to a 95th percentile standing elbow rest height. A locking means for to selectively lock an upper tray at a predetermined height above a base tray is also described. The apparatus may include a power means for adjusting the height of the upper tray over the base tray. A method of adjusting a device for use by a user in a seated and in a standing position is also disclosed.

Abstract: An adjustable support assembly is described for use with any prior art seating device having a post and a plurality of substantially horizontal legs. In some embodiments, the support assembly has a support with at least two voids for mounting to the post of the seating device, and at least one leg. The outer perimeter of the support is moveable outwardly with respect to the post of the seating device via selective engagement with one of the voids. Further, the attachment of the legs to the support provides a way to selectively lock the support to prevent rotation of the support about the post. A method of adjusting the support is also disclosed.
