  • Patent number: 9919693
Abstract: Driver braking performance feedback may be conveyed to a vehicle operator as a braking efficiency score using a vehicle display system. The display system may include a vehicle display for displaying a braking efficiency indicator or gauge corresponding to the braking efficiency score. The braking efficiency score may be based on a comparison of the total regenerative braking energy recaptured during at least one braking event to a either a maximum amount of braking energy that may be recaptured during the at least one braking event or an actual total braking energy expended during the at least one braking event. The braking efficiency score may be displayed upon the completion of a braking event or upon a completion of a trip including a plurality of braking events. The display may also convey a distance corresponding to a portion of a trip distance achieved through regenerative braking.

  • Publication number: 20180069931
Abstract: An endpoint system provides a REST endpoint for an application. The endpoint system processes request messages based on message pair data for each message that includes an operation and parameter data. The parameter data includes parameter information for each parameter that identifies whether the value for the parameter is to be taken from the URI or payload of a request message. The endpoint system receives request messages that have a URI and payload. The URI includes an operation name. The endpoint system processes each request message in accordance with the message pair data for the operation specified in the request message. For each parameter of the message pair data, the endpoint system extracts the value for the parameter from the URI, payload, headers, or query parameters as specified by the parameter information. The endpoint system invokes the operation passing the one or more extracted values as actual parameters.

  • Publication number: 20180046560
Abstract: Systems, methods, and media for tracking a connected device are disclosed. For example, a wireless connection can be established between a user computing device and a connected hardware device. The user computing device can determine whether a Universally Unique Identifier (UUID) has been assigned to the connected hardware device. If no UUID has been assigned, the user computing device can generate a UUID, which the connected hardware device can receive and store. The user computing device can instruct a server to create a profile of the connected hardware device with the UUID. The connected hardware device can start broadcasting the UUID. A second user computing device can receive the UUID and retrieve the profile of the connected hardware device from the server with the UUID. The connected hardware device can also collect information, which can be transmitted to the server via a user computing device.

  • Publication number: 20180044163
Abstract: A method of delivering a selected fuel product having a selected octane level to an operator from a fuel dispenser including a blend manifold, a fuel nozzle, and a fuel hose extending therebetween, including the steps of determining a first volume of a first fuel that is retained in the fuel hose upon completion of a first fueling event, determining a first octane level of the first volume of the first fuel, determining a second volume of a second fuel having a second octane level, and delivering the first fuel volume and the second fuel volume to the operator during a second fueling event, wherein a total volume of fuel equaling the first volume of the first fuel and the second volume of the second fuel has a total octane level that falls within a predetermined limit of the selected octane level of the selected fuel product.

  • Patent number: 9884619
Abstract: An exemplary method includes using a controller to automatically operate a vehicle in an electric mode when an actual speed of the vehicle is at or below a set threshold, and to automatically operate the vehicle in a hybrid mode when the actual speed is above the set threshold. The method further including adjusting the set threshold using a selector device such that the set threshold is changed without influencing the actual speed. Another exemplary method includes using a controller to automatically initiate a transition of a vehicle from an electric mode to a hybrid mode, or from the hybrid mode to the electric mode. The controller initiates the transition in response to a comparison of a state of charge of a battery of the vehicle to a threshold state of charge that is configured to be adjusted by an operator.

  • Patent number: 9878896
Abstract: A meter for measuring the flow rate of fuel in a fuel dispenser comprises a housing with an axial bore extending therethrough and defining an inlet and an outlet. A flow indicating mechanism comprising one or more rotatable components are mounted in the axial bore of the housing and configured to rotate as fuel flows from the inlet to the outlet, wherein each rotation indicates fuel flow. A pulse generating device senses rotation of the rotatable components and generates an output signal indicative of the fuel flow. Finally, a vapor generating device is configured to generate vapor bubbles that flow through the flow indicating mechanism.

  • Patent number: 9872536
Abstract: A shoe sole having improved cushioning characteristics is disclosed. The sole includes a midsole having a top layer of material and a bottom layer of material. In one embodiment, the top layer of material may be harder than the bottom layer of material. A pattern of lugs defining a wave may be formed on the bottom layer of material. The wave may generally be in the shape of sine wave so as to provide improved cushioning characteristics for the sole. An outsole may also be formed on the bottom layer of material and an upper may be connected to the top layer of material, such that a shoe is formed.

  • Publication number: 20170321400
Abstract: A clicker ratchet limiter is a mechanical device that allows one part to move a defined distance relative to another by means of a linkage moving around a closed circuit track with a minimum and maximum position, and by means of a captured spring to allow for propulsion of the linkage around the track. One part, the anchor, is fastened to an anchoring object, leaving the top part to move between a minimum and maximum displacement position. Switching between positions is effected by compressing an internal coil spring by pressing down on the top part. The linkage device is a ratchet but not robust to pulling of the top off of the anchored anchor part. A hook and step displacement limiter is provided within each raceway pair of rib and inverted rib on the anchor and top part, respectively, to prevent pulling off of the top.

  • Patent number: 9804016
Abstract: A method and apparatus for improving the accuracy of fuel flow meters by compensating for the presence of vapor bubbles generated within the flow meter. The method comprises measuring the temperature of the fuel flowing through the meter and using an algorithm or static lookup table to determine a vapor compensation factor based on that temperature. Because the tendency of fuel to vaporize depends largely on seasonal variations in fuel temperature, applying a temperature-dependent vapor compensation factor promotes year-round accuracy of the flow meter output.

  • Publication number: 20170268211
Abstract: A splash-proof lavatory drain consists of a top, a tailpiece tube, and a flanged threaded pipe penetrating a drain hole in a vessel interior, wherein the flange engages the rim of the drain hole and is tightened by a nut and seals against the underside of the vessel. The top is a laterally perforated tube surmounted with a dome. The tube portion of the top inserts into the upper interior of a central perforation of the flange such that the dome prevents splash back from the drain interior and the rectangular perforations allow for drainage. This top is attached to the flanged threaded pipe by a range of means including a thread mate or a press fit. Drainage flow is increased by notching the lower edge of each perforation. Drainage flow is increased by notching the bottom of the perforations either partly or fully to the bottom of the top tube.
