  • Publication number: 20250129571
Abstract: A method for estimating operating ranges for an electric work vehicle includes accessing, with a computing system, data associated with a power consumption rate of an electric work vehicle, the electric work vehicle being operable in plurality of operating modes. The method also includes accessing, with the computing system, data associated with a remaining capacity of a power storage device of the electric work vehicle, and determining, with the computing system, an estimated operating range for each of the plurality of operating modes for the electric work vehicle based at least in part on the data associated with the power consumption rate and the remaining capacity of the power storage device. In addition, the method includes providing, with the computing system, data indicative of the estimated operating range for each of the plurality of operating modes for presentation on a display device.

  • Patent number: 11982070
Abstract: An electric work vehicle includes a hydraulic actuator and a pump configured to supply hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic actuator, with the pump being operable within an operating speed range extending between a minimum operating speed value and a maximum operating speed value. Furthermore, the electric work vehicle includes a sensor configured to capture data indicative of a temperature of the hydraulic fluid and a controller communicatively coupled to the sensor. As such, the controller is configured to monitor the temperature of the hydraulic fluid relative to a predetermined minimum fluid temperature as the pump is operating within the operating speed range. In addition, the controller is configured to adjust the operating speed range of the pump by increasing at least one of the minimum operating speed value or the maximum operating speed value when the monitored temperature of the hydraulic fluid falls below the predetermined minimum fluid temperature.

  • Patent number: 11933024
Abstract: An electric work vehicle a pump configured to supply hydraulic fluid to a component of the electric work vehicle. Moreover, the electric work vehicle includes a sensor configured to capture data indicative of a pressure of the hydraulic fluid and a controller communicatively coupled to the sensor. As such, the controller is configured to monitor the pressure of the hydraulic fluid relative to a predetermined threshold pressure value based on the data captured the sensor. In addition, the controller is configured to control the operation of the pump such that the pump is switched from a first operating speed range to a second operating speed range when the monitored pressure of the hydraulic fluid falls below the predetermined threshold pressure value.

  • Publication number: 20230097590
Abstract: In one aspect, an electric work vehicle includes a chassis extending in a longitudinal direction between a first end and an opposed second end, and a cab supported between the first and second ends of the chassis. The work vehicle also includes a work implement assembly positioned at the first end or the second end, and a storage compartment defining a storage volume extending in the longitudinal direction between the cab and the first end or the second end. Moreover, the electric work vehicle includes a battery module positioned within the storage compartment, and a drivetrain including an electric traction motor positioned within the storage compartment and configured to be operated via power supplied from the battery module. The electric traction motor is coupled to a transmission of the drivetrain to allow torque to be transferred from the traction motor to corresponding traction devices of the electric work vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20220134843
Abstract: In one aspect, a cab heating system for an electric work vehicle includes a hydraulic circuit forming a hydraulic flow loop through which a hydraulic fluid is directed for supply to a hydraulic component of the electric work vehicle. The system also includes a coolant circuit forming a coolant flow loop through which a coolant fluid is circulated, with the coolant circuit comprising a coolant heat exchanger. Additionally, the system includes a circuit heat exchanger thermally coupling the hydraulic circuit to the coolant circuit to allow heat to be transferred between the hydraulic fluid and the coolant fluid, and a fan configured to direct an airflow across the coolant heat exchanger such that heat is transferred from the coolant fluid to the airflow prior to delivery of the airflow into an interior of a cab of the electric work vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11261582
Abstract: A system for controlling hydraulic fluid flow within a work vehicle includes a flow control valve fluidly coupled to a fluid supply conduit upstream of a hydraulic actuator such that the flow control valve is configured to control the flow rate of hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic actuator. Furthermore, the system includes a computing system configured to receive an input associated with a selected flow rate of the hydraulic fluid being supplied to the hydraulic actuator. Moreover, the computing system is configured to control an operation of the flow control valve such that flow control valve is at a maximum flow position at which an adjustable orifice defined by the valve has a maximum cross-sectional area. Additionally, the computing system is configured to control an operation of a pump such that the pump supplies the hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic actuator through the adjustable orifice at the selected flow rate.

  • Patent number: 10562507
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a braking system for a work vehicle having hydraulically-actuated brakes. The braking system includes a primary release valve, a secondary release valve, and at least one braking mechanism having one or more brake springs. The braking mechanism(s) is hydraulically coupled to the primary release valve and the secondary release valve via one or more hydraulic lines. As such, during full-power operation of the work vehicle, when the brakes are to be released, the primary release valve is energized so as to overcome a valve biasing spring, thereby shifting the primary release valve so as to direct pressurized hydraulic fluid to the braking mechanism(s). Further, when the brakes are to be applied, the primary release valve is inactive so as to allow the hydraulic fluid to flow away from the braking mechanism(s) to a primary reservoir such that the one or more brake springs compress the braking mechanism(s).
