Abstract: This invention relates to a pressure compensator for use with an irrigation device, the pressure compensator comprising: a body defining a fluid passageway for fluid flow; an elastomeric membrane; a substantially concave seating surface substantially covered by the membrane, said seating surface having a peripheral edge against which said membrane locates, wherein the seating surface and the elastomeric membrane seated thereby are positioned in the fluid flow so as to be either parallel with or inclined at an angle relative to the fluid flow. An irrigation device incorporating the pressure compensator is also disclosed.
