Abstract: A fastening device comprises a connecting member 8 and a body 1, an object to be secured typically being attached to the connecting member, and the body being installed, at a fixed location 25. To secure the object, an end 11 of the connecting member 8 must be inserted through an opening 6 in the body 1 for engagement with a retaining means after the retaining means has been temporarily moved away from its operative position. An actuating means 13, which may be hidden, is used for release of the object, and may require some skill for operation. Installation of the body 1 is described in relation to one embodiment of the invention.
