Publication number: 20250251065Abstract: A flexible joint is used to accommodate dynamic movement such as settlement, seismic and thermal movements. A portion of an outer surface of a ring is surrounded by a sleeve. A coupling attaches the sleeve to the ring. The sleeve is slidably movable on a section of the portion of the outer surface of the ring. The portion of the outer surface comprises first and second grooves, a partial spherical segment, a first frustoconical segment positioned adjacent the partial spherical segment and a second frustoconical segment positioned adjacent the partial spherical segment. The outer surfaces of the first and second frustoconical segments taper away from the partial spherical segment.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 31, 2025Publication date: August 7, 2025Inventors: Damian Daigle, Christopher Albright

Patent number: 12331858Abstract: A coupling for joining first and second pipe elements in includes first and second rings attachable to pipe elements. Each ring defines a groove and a plurality of receiving surfaces adjacent to the groove. Segments are attachable end to end to surround a central space and the rings. Each segment includes keys projecting toward the central space for engagement with each groove of the rings. Each segment includes at least one action surface engageable with a receiving surface of the first and second ring. Engagement between the action surfaces and the receiving surfaces prevents rotation of the first and second pipe elements with respect to one another. A method of assembling the coupling is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2024Date of Patent: June 17, 2025Assignee: Victaulic CompanyInventors: Eric Frank Finlayson, Christopher Albright

Publication number: 20220341527Abstract: A mechanical outlet forms a Tee joint by using a strap to cinch a pipe element to a saddle having a duct. One end of the strap and saddle are attached via an adjustable fastener. Angularly oriented action and reaction surfaces on the saddle and strap engage one another when the fastener is tightened to place a tensile load on the strap which substantially conforms to the pipe element and compresses it against the saddle. The opposite ends of the strap and saddle engage one another via a yoke and enlarged head, allowing those ends to be disengaged to permit insertion of the pipe element between strap and saddle.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 21, 2022Publication date: October 27, 2022Inventors: Matthew A. Bowman, Christopher A. Richards, Christopher Albright
