The gene signatures can be detected in samples obtained from the extracellular fluid of a subject suffering from cancer. The novel gene signatures can be used to predict and monitor responses to immunotherapy in cancer and can be targeted therapeutically. The immunotherapy can be immune checkpoint inhibition therapy.
