The means for detecting includes motion detectors or weight detectors or both and indicator includes a local and a remote indicator. Further said means for electronically locking may be an electromagnetically operated lock and a keypad. In addition the keypad may include a remote keypad for remote operations of the remote keypad and the remote indicator the mailbox provides a transceiver.
