  • Publication number: 20260118943
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing a data processing system are disclosed. Based on an occurrence of a power management event for the data processing system, the data processing system may use a multi-function connection to exchange power information with a power distribution unit (PDU) that supplies power to the data processing system via the multi-function connection. Using the power information, a power management process may be performed to obtain a new powered state for the data processing system. The new powered state may be enforced on hardware resources of the data processing system to obtain an updated processing system usable for providing computer-implemented services.

  • Publication number: 20260121855
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing a data processing system are disclosed. The data processing system may obtain first power from a power distribution unit (PDU) via a multi-function connection. Based on a magnitude of the first power, a validation process may need to be performed before other power is made available to the data processing system from the PDU. During the validation process, the data processing system may, via the multi-function connection, provide identification information to and receive a response from the PDU. The response may indicate characteristics of power that the PDU believes is warranted for the data processing system based on the identification information. The data processing system may be placed in a new power state based on the characteristics of the power in order to provide computer-implemented services.

  • Publication number: 20260119146
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing operation of data processing systems are disclosed. When a data processing system of the data processing systems is attempting to onboard to a deployment, the data processing system may obtain a peer verification request from an orchestrator that manages operation of the deployment. The data processing system may attempt to distribute network information indicated by the peer verification request to at least one of the other data processing systems deemed to be a trusted device by the orchestrator. By distributing the network information using a limited network distribution mechanism to the trusted device, the data processing system may be inferred to be properly positioned with respect to a network environment of the deployment. Operation of the data processing system may be updated based on communication from the orchestrator indicating whether the data processing system is deemed properly positioned to onboard to the deployment.

  • Publication number: 20260118935
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing operation of a system are disclosed. To manage operation of the system, a diagnostic device may be used to obtain data from a dual purpose cable that simultaneously carries power and data between a data processing system of the system and a power system of the system. The diagnostic device may include a component (e.g., an inductive amplifier) that may snoop the data carried by the dual purpose cable by sampling and interpreting a magnetic field emanating outside the dual purpose cable. The data may include control information for managing distribution of power and may subsequently be used to update operation of the system when a power distribution issue is identified in the system.

  • Publication number: 20260118938
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing a data processing system are disclosed. A power distribution unit (PDU) may supply power to the data processing system via a multi-function connection adapted to facilitate communication between the data processing system and the PDU. Based on an identification of an occurrence of a power budgeting event for the data processing system, the data processing system may use the multi-function connection to provide a power cap request to the PDU, and to obtain a response to the power cap request from the PDU. The response may be based on a mapping of a power distribution system that includes the PDU, and the response may indicate a new power state for the data processing system. The data processing system may enforce the power state on at least hardware resources of the data processing system in order to provide computer-implemented services.

  • Publication number: 20260122503
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing a data processing system are disclosed. The data processing system (DPS) may identify that a power distribution unit (PDU) is operably connected via a multi-function connection adapted to both supply power to the DPS and facilitate communication between the DPS and the PDU. The DPS may identify a pairing state for the PDU that indicates whether the PDU is paired or unpaired. If the PDU is unpaired, a pairing process may be performed to attempt to change the pairing state for the PDU to paired. If the pairing state for the PDU is changed to paired, then a new power state for the DPS may be collaboratively enforced by the DPS with the PDU to obtain an updated DPS. The updated DPS may provide a computer-implemented service.

  • Publication number: 20250138976
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing operation of a deployment are disclosed. To manage operation of the deployment, the system may identify if a requested solution is incompatible with the deployment. If the solution is determined to be incompatible with the deployment, alternative solutions may be identified. To identify alternative solutions, the system may identify requirements of the requested solution and/or the available components of the deployment. The identified alternative solutions may be provided to a user to select at least one of the alternative solutions and/or to add additional computing components to make the deployment compatible with the solution. By doing so, the alternative solution agreed to by the user may be used to manage operation of the deployment.

  • Publication number: 20250138882
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing processes performed by a host device are disclosed. To manage the processes performed by the host device, the future state of operation of the host device performing the process may be identified. To identify the future state of operation, the actual state of operation at various points in time during performance of the process may be obtained. The actual state of operation may be obtained using information presented by a graphical user interface managed by a process performed by the host device at different points in time. By doing so, the identified future operating state may be used to manage the continued performance of the process to facilitate completion of the process.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing processes performed by a host device are disclosed. To manage the processes performed by the host device, the actual state of operation of the host device performing the process may be identified. To identify the actual state of operation, out-of-band components of the host device such as a management controller may obtain information presented by a graphical user interface managed by a process performed by the host device. The information may be used to infer the actual operating state of the host device. By doing so, the actual operating state may be used to manage the operation of the host device.

  • Publication number: 20250138804
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing operations for a data processing system are disclosed. To manage operations for the data processing system, a device update graph may be generated based on software component versions and dependency data associated with a requested update to be applied to the data processing system. A reverse topological analysis may be performed, using the device update graph, in order to identify different paths through the graph and corresponding cost for traversing each of the paths. A duration of time to complete application of the update may be identified based on the corresponding cost for each of the path. The duration of time (in isolation and/or including additional update information) may be used in obtaining an update plan for the data processing system. The update plan may be used in managing operations for the data processing system.

  • Patent number: 12255964
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing operation of infrastructure are disclosed. The operation of the infrastructure may be managed by managed by identifying solutions that are compatible with the infrastructure. The solutions may be identified through graph analysis of the infrastructure and requirements of various solutions. One or more of the compatible solutions may be selected and used to identify actions and policies for the infrastructure. When used by the infrastructure, the actions and policies may update the operating state of the infrastructure so that the selected solutions may be provided.
