Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods for sharing media in real time. The methods may comprise initiating an ad hoc connection between a sending peer device and one or more receiving peer devices; using the sending peer device to select a media to share with a plurality of receiving peer devices comprising the one or more receiving peer devices; using the ad hoc connection to send a file corresponding to the selected media to the one or more receiving peer devices, which file may be stored temporarily on the one or more receiving peer devices such that the media is capable of being displayed and manipulated on a receiving peer device of the plurality of receiving peer devices without manipulating the media displayed on the sending peer device and another receiving peer device of the plurality of receiving peer devices; and terminating the ad hoc connection.
