  • Patent number: 9409109
Abstract: A filtration container for concentration of macromolecules is insertable into a filtrate recovery tube (5) and has an upper portion (2), a central portion (3) axially adjoining the upper portion (2), and a lower portion (4) axially adjoining the central portion (3). The upper portion (3) forms a hollow-cylindrical sample container (7) with an inlet opening (9) on its upper end face (8). The downwardly tapering central portion (3) has a filtration chamber (11) with two mutually opposed main walls (12, 13) running down toward one another. At least one of the main walls (12, 13) has a filter window (16) for receiving a planar membrane filter (17). The lower portion (4) forms a retentate chamber (21) adjoining the lower edge (18) of the filter window (16) A base (26) of the retentate chamber (21) slopes down on one side laterally.

  • Patent number: 9295825
Abstract: A connector assembly has a connector (10) with a fluid leadthrough (20) and a contact device (14). The contact device has an essentially planar contact surface (16) and a fluid leadthrough opening (18) passing through the contact surface (16). A sterile covering (64) sterilely covers at least part of the contact surface (16) and/or an end of the fluid leadthrough opening (20) adjacent the contact surface (16). A coupling device (22) is provided in proximity to the contact surface (16) outwardly from the fluid leadthrough opening (18). The connector assembly further includes a complementary connector (12) with a complementary coupling device (34) that can engage with the coupling device (22) along a coupling direction (40) that is essentially parallel to the contact surface (16).

  • Patent number: 6312591
Abstract: A filtration cell for carrying out a tangential flow filtration of a sample liquid contains at least two blocks and at least two filtration elements arranged between each pair of two adjacent blocks. The filtration elements each include an outlet for filtrate, a sheet of support material and two generally flat ultrafiltration or microfiltration membranes, arranged on either side of the support material in a sandwich construction. Each of the blocks, at a side adjacent the membranes, is provided with a respective channel for feeding a flow of sample liquid tangentially over the membranes such that each channel is connected in parallel with the inlet for the flow of sample liquid to be filtered and with an outlet for a concentrated solution. Each channel includes in its longitudinal direction a number of subsequent channel sections separated by transitional zones and is constructed and arranged such that the main flow direction in subsequent sections changes abruptly in the transitional zones.
