  • Publication number: 20150039441
Abstract: The disclosure details the implementation of apparatuses, methods and systems for a Framework for Ad-hoc Applications Based on Advertising (FAABA). The FAABA may employ short-range radio-frequency communications. The disclosure teaches mechanisms for providing targeted advertising in connection with ad-hoc applications/point-to-point (P2P) communications between user terminals. In a manner, the invention teaches general collection components for user terminals, which is responsible for collecting and maintaining a dynamic set of advertisements as a background operation. This allows the user terminals to initiate applications that are based on P2P communication, and furthermore, allows collections of pre-loaded advertisements to be provided to the user terminals along and/or during the P2P communications.

  • Patent number: 7647374
Abstract: The invention relates to a management of sessions between parties being connectable with a network. Thereby a first party registers to the network and invites a second party to a session. It is determined from a session information whether said session is to be retained by the network. The retaining comprises storing at least part of the session information for a subsequent re-establishment or release of the session by the network on behalf of said first party, releasing said retained session by the network towards the second party on behalf of the first party, when the first party deregisters from the network or loses connection to the network, re-establishing the retained session by the network towards the second party on behalf of the first party, when the first party repeatedly registers to said network or re-establishes connection with said network.

  • Publication number: 20060035655
Abstract: A system and method for automatically installing an application and related information on a receiving terminal. When a transmitting terminal attempts to transmit information to a receiving terminal that does not possess an application required for receiving the information, the transmitting terminal provides the receiving terminal with information as to where the application can be found. The receiving terminal is then able to automatically obtain the application and related information from this location for subsequent installation.

  • Publication number: 20050170861
Abstract: A method in a communication system, the system comprising a first entity maintaining registration information from a plurality of users and a second entity maintaining information associated with said plurality of users, wherein said second entity information is dependent on the registration information. The method comprises sending a subscribe message for an event from the second entity to the first entity, wherein the event is a change in the registration information of at least one of the plurality of users at the first entity; receiving at the first entity a register message from at least one user, said message changing the registration information of said at least one user; sending a notification from the first entity to the second entity in response to the register message, wherein the notification includes information associated with said at least one user.

  • Publication number: 20040042414
Abstract: A method and system for establishing communication over a data packet network which reduces transmission congestion on the data packet network, increases security options for call receivers on the data packet network and ensures more accurate billing procedures for facilitators of the data packet network. CallObject specifying customizing call receiving parameters are downloaded by a calling party who then requests communication with the call receiving party, if there is compliance between the CallObject of the call receiving party and the CallObject of the calling party which specifies the calling capabilities of the calling party.

  • Publication number: 20020101879
Abstract: A method and arrangement for providing services for clients (3) associated with a data communication network is disclosed for use in a system where the services are provided by at least one external service provider (11-13). In the method offers are signalled from said at least one external service provider to an interface entity (2) associated with the data network (1), said offers associating with services provided by said service provider. The offers are processed at the interface entity in order to make a decision regarding the acceptance of the offers. Accepted services are then included into a register of services that are available for the clients. When a client wishes to use a service, a request for the service is signalled to the interface entity. The request is processed by the interface entity to find a matching service from the registered services. If a matching service is found, said service is requested from an external service provider providing said service.
