  • Patent number: 8179794
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments relate to methods, systems, and computer program products for providing quality of service brokering in a network. Methods include receiving a data packet at a router in an Internet protocol (IP) network. The data packet includes a data packet QoS class and a data packet destination. A storage mechanism that includes possible routes to the data packet destination at the data packet QoS class is accessed. One of the possible routes is selected. The data packet is transmitted along the selected route to the data packet destination.

  • Patent number: 8064348
Abstract: Methods and computer program products for gathering a traffic profile for an endpoint device operably coupled to a network. Methods include simultaneously sending a set of numerically sequenced packets to a plurality of endpoint devices on the network including the endpoint device, wherein the plurality of endpoint devices are time synchronized with the numerically sequenced packets; receiving the numerically sequenced packets at the endpoint device; electronically storing packet data for the numerically sequenced packets at the endpoint device, wherein the packet data is stored for a user configurable time period; collecting the packet data within the user configurable time period; and using the collected packet data to determine packet loss information or packet sequence information for the endpoint device.

  • Publication number: 20080320116
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for identifying an endpoint device from a network when the endpoint device is operably coupled to the network using an internal address on a network address translation (NAT) router. The methods include generating mapping information by associating each of a plurality of internal addresses on the NAT router with a corresponding internal port on the NAT router, a corresponding external address on the network, and a corresponding external port. The mapping information is placed into a flat file and sent to a collection agent server operably coupled to the network.

  • Patent number: 5490024
Abstract: A disk drive having a read/write head flying at extremely low flying heights, the drive including a disk clamp for clamping one or more disks within the disk drive, with the clamp exerting a substantially uniform pressure at the circular line of contact between the clamp and the disk. The disk clamp includes a raised circular wall around an outer radius of the clamp, which wall is formed as part of and integrally with the rest of the clamp. The wall serves to increase the structural rigidity of the clamp in a single axial section of the clamp, thereby providing a "stress barrier" to the transmission of localized stresses from the screw points. Thus, the pressure exerted by the clamp on the disk is evenly distributed around the entire clamp, and the distortion normally occurring at the inner diameter of the disk with conventional disk clamps is greatly reduced.
