  • Publication number: 20110267419
Abstract: Techniques for recording and replay of a live conference while still attending the live conference are described. A conferencing system includes a user interface generator, a live conference processing module, and a replay processing module. The user interface generator is configured to generate a user interface that includes a replay control panel and one or more output panels. The live conference processing module is configured to extract information included in received conferencing data that is associated with one or more conferencing modalities, and to display the information in the one or more output panels in a live manner (e.g., as a live conference). The replay processing module is configured to enable information associated with the one or more conferencing modalities corresponding to a time of the conference session prior to live to be presented at a desired rate, possibly different from the real-time rate, if a replay mode is selected in the replay control panel.

  • Publication number: 20110245777
Abstract: A pad or medical article is configured to absorb fluids that are discharged from a catheter assembly and/or medical line. The pad includes a body member that can include a backing layer and an absorbent layer disposed over the backing layer. The absorbent layer can include a groove connecting the proximal end of the layer with a recess formed in a surface of the layer. The groove and recess can be configured to draw fluids that come into contact with the layer to the recess to evenly distribute the liquid throughout the absorbent layer. The medical article can also include a retention member disposed on the body member. The retention member can form a receiving space or channel so as to permit at least a portion of a catheter assembly or medical line to be placed within the receiving space.

  • Patent number: 8003567
Abstract: The present teachings are directed toward hexagonally patterned porous titania synthesized from a titanium isopropoxide precursor using a viscous template of surface-active agents separating nanoscopic bicontinuous channels of water and isooctane. Subsequent catalyst metal salt reduction in the aqueous nanochannels deposits well-separated catalyst metal nanoparticles on the pore surfaces. These nanocomposites exhibit significantly higher carbon monoxide oxidation efficiency than that obtained with known supports with higher specific surface area; efficiency is believed to be due to decreased mass transfer resistance provided the presently disclosed support material.

  • Publication number: 20110150325
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of generating a model from a set of images. The method comprises processing a plurality of data items, each data item representing an image of said set of images, to determine variability between said plurality of data items; and generating model data representing said model based upon said data items and said variability, wherein the influence of each of said data items upon the generated model is determined by a relationship between a respective one of said data items and said variability.

  • Patent number: 7806080
Abstract: An apparatus for releasably fastening a removable cover to a cushion, the cushion having attached thereto a base cover, is provided. The apparatus includes first and second pairs of spaced apart zipper halves attached to the removable cover and the base cover, respectively. Engaging each zipper half with its corresponding zipper half releasably fastens the removable cover to the base cover. Zipper halves may be attached to the removable cover at opposing sides thereof proximate to the perimeter of the removable cover, including along opposing edges thereof. Zipper halves may be attached to the base cover at opposing sides thereof proximate to the perimeter of the base cover. Zipper halves may be substantially straight and without sharp lateral turns. The cushion may be a pet furniture cushion, and may be an animal bed. The cushion may be a stackable cushion.

  • Patent number: 7771702
Abstract: The invention provides active, affordable, durable, and sulfur-tolerant catalysts and related precursors and processes useful in hydrogen production. The catalysts have a wide applicability. For example, in one embodiment, the invention provides sulfur-tolerant catalysts which, when used in a catalytic fuel processor, will facilitate sufficient hydrogen generation within 30 seconds or so of automobile start-up to generate around 50 kW of fuel cell power. Catalysts of the instant invention are made by reducing a catalyst precursor comprising a support phase impregnated with one or more elemental transition metals, wherein: (a) the support phase is formed by dispersion of a monolayer on the surface of a high surface area alumina support; and (b) the monolayer comprises XOnYO2, where (1) XOn is a redox active metal oxide and n is either 1.5, 2, or 2.5 depending on the oxidation number of X, and (2) YO2 is a redox inactive metal oxide. Ni—V2O5—ZrO2/Al2O3 catalysts of the instant invention are preferred.
