Patent number: 9456710Abstract: Drink containers include a liquid container and a cap assembly removably coupled to the liquid container. Cap assemblies include a body that defines a drink outlet for dispensing drink liquid, and an operational assembly that is operatively coupled to the body and that has at least an open configuration permitting drink liquid to be dispensed and a closed configuration restricting drink liquid from being dispensed. In some embodiments, the operational assembly also has a cleaning configuration in which portions of the operational assembly are spaced away from the body of the cap assembly for cleaning. In some embodiments, the operational assembly is positioned predominantly on the exterior of the body of the cap assembly.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2015Date of Patent: October 4, 2016Assignee: CamelBak Products, LLCInventors: Christopher C. Blain, Greg Caneer, Jeff Davies

Publication number: 20140234686Abstract: A battery housing includes a heat spreader, a thermal interface that contacts a surface of the heat spreader, and a battery frame that is configured to hold a plurality of battery cells. When a battery cell is inserted into the battery frame, the thermal interface contacts the cell at the same end as the cell's negative terminal. As a result, the thermal interface allows heat to be transferred between the battery cell and the heat spreader. It is advantageous to make a thermal connection at the end with the negative terminal because the internal jelly roll structure of the battery cell causes the cell to have a higher thermal conductivity at its negative terminal.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 2, 2013Publication date: August 21, 2014Inventors: Robert W. Sweney, Derek Dorresteyn, Jeffrey W. Sand, Christopher C. Blain

Patent number: 8252224Abstract: Multi-layered drink-containers including an inner liquid-container and an outer shell in an at least partially overlapping, telescopic relation relative to the inner-liquid-container and methods of assembling the same. In some examples of multi-layered drink-containers, the inner liquid-container includes a lower portion having an outer cross-sectional area, an orthogonal projection of which at least partially overlaps an orthogonal projection of an inner cross-sectional area of an upper portion of the outer shell. Some examples of methods of assembling multi-layered drink-containers include reducing a resiliently deformable restrictive-portion of an inner liquid-container, positioning an outer shell in an at least partially overlapping, telescopic relation relative to the inner liquid-container, and returning the resiliently deformable restrictive-portion to a neutral, un-deformed and un-reduced state.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2009Date of Patent: August 28, 2012Assignee: CamelBak Products, LLCInventor: Christopher C. Blain

Publication number: 20110174993Abstract: Water purifying drink containers include a liquid container, a cap assembly removably coupled to the liquid container, and a purification assembly that emits ultraviolet (UV) light in the germicidal spectrum to purify a volume of drink liquid held in the liquid container. In some embodiments, the purification assembly includes a UV bulb positioned within a recess of the cap assembly facing the internal compartment of the liquid container. In some embodiments, the UV bulb further emits light in the visible spectrum and the drink container includes an indicator that becomes illuminated with visible light to indicate to a user when the UV bulb is emitting UV light.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 13, 2011Publication date: July 21, 2011Applicant: CamelBak Products, LLCInventor: Christopher C.
