  • Patent number: 11494057
Abstract: A system and method are presented for delivering modular tools through a cloud-based remote computing environment. Users may create and customize extensions to the modular tools for integration with the product system without requiring change to product. Using a script tag added to a website, a user is able to install the modular tool to a website. The modular tool extensions are able to directly communicate with handlers and websites and are able to become directly integrated with a premises-based product. This may be done through a multiplexed API exposed to the modular tool extensions that directly couples them to the premises-based product. The modular tools are able to be configured in the premises-based product, however they are hosted in the cloud and as such, the premises-based product is able to receive continuous integration and deployment from the cloud.

  • Publication number: 20220286455
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for identifying an application (e.g., accessing application) that is attempting to access a resource. In some examples, access may be managed by an authentication service. When an access request is received at the authentication service from an application on a client device, the authentication service may ask the application to communicate with an identification agent on the client device. The identification agent may perform one or more tests to discover the identity of the application. In some cases, the identification agent may send the identity of the application to the authentication service. The authentication service may then allow or deny access by the accessing application to the resource based at least in part on the discovered identity.

  • Publication number: 20220268625
Abstract: Certain embodiments provide a self-checking photoelectric sensor that is configured to determine a characteristic (e.g., an amount of blockage and/or wellness/decay) of an optical pathway (e.g., an electro-optical pathway). An example method generally includes increasing, over a time period that starts at a first time, a current input to a light emitting element (LEE). The method generally includes receiving, by a light detection element, an output of the LEE via the optical pathway during the time period. The method generally includes converting, during the time period, the LEE output to a voltage output. The method generally includes determining a second time in the time period when the voltage output crosses a threshold. The method generally includes determining the characteristic of the optical pathway between the LEE and the light detection element based on a difference between the second time and the first time.

  • Patent number: 11366945
Abstract: A software-based (“soft”) real-time hub designed and implemented for use in simulation (or control testing) systems such as to provide a modular soft-real-time PIL. A simulation system of the present description typically may include one or more of the following useful subsystems or components: (a) a soft-real-time hub; (b) simulation interfaces; and (c) hardware emulation subsystems/devices. The soft-real-time hub is typically a combination of hardware and software adapted to provide deterministic data transport between simulations and input/output (I/O) emulation. By creating a common point, the hub enables simulation modules to be swapped out as the simulation system progresses without the operator having to worry about interface timing, forcing, or data visualization. A desirable aspect of the simulation system is it allows for testing certain conditions by forcing I/O and then seeing how the controller or system under testing responds.
