  • Publication number: 20240111904
Abstract: Secure hashing of large files to verify file identity. In some implementations, a method includes determining a size of a particular file received by an endpoint device, and searching for a record indexed in a data structure based on the size. In response to finding the record, a sequence of multiple records is accessed in the data structure. For each record of the sequence, a particular data portion is hashed that has a location in the particular file that corresponds to a location in the record to obtain a particular hash result. In response to the particular hash result matching a corresponding previous hash result stored in the record based on an associated data portion in an associated file, the particular file is determined to be the same as the associated file, and characteristics of the particular file are determined using file information for the associated file.

  • Patent number: 7505453
Abstract: To allow meter data users to have access to needed information and at the same time address the rapidly shifting requirements of the deregulated marketplace, a new business model employs a common metering device that measures raw data and a system composed of independent services or applications that collect and process raw metered data and then make that data available to interested parties. This new model removes the dependence upon an automatic meter reading (AMR) system provider, as the sole provider, by creating a system to enable a competitive environment where services (applications, information, networking, etc.) rather than systems are selected and paid for on a leased or pay-per-use basis.

  • Publication number: 20060117613
Abstract: A wear assembly provided with a tapered opening and a complementary tapered lock wherein the lock can be pried into and from the opening to thereby eliminate the need for hammering. The lock is formed with a body and a latch that is movable between a hold position where the latch is engageable with a stop in the opening to releasably retain the lock in the opening and a release position where the latch disengages the stop.

  • Patent number: 6275358
Abstract: A conductor trace array includes an electrically insulative support substrate and a plurality of pairs of electrical signal conductor traces and a plurality of pairs of passive electrical conductor traces. All of the traces are formed along substantially parallel paths in a single layer on the substrate. Each pair of the electrical signal conductor traces is arranged on the support substrate such that they are positioned in a space defined between each pair of passive electrical conductor traces. As a result, each pair of signal conductor traces has a passive electrical conductor trace positioned immediately adjacent thereto. The passive conductor traces generally follow a geometry of the signal conductor traces and thereby form a capacitive coupling relationship therebetween. This capacitive coupling relationship increases the characteristic impedance of the signal conductor traces.

  • Patent number: 6199068
Abstract: A mapper to translate an input file from an input domain to an output domain. The mapper includes a canons utility which builds a canon, the canon being a tree relating all data attributes within a domain of information, and the domain being a collection of data that has a same data format, a maps utility which creates input and output maps that specify the translation from the input domain to the output domain, and a translator utility to perform the translation of the input file to an output file. The input map is a data structure that describes a format of the input domain and the output map is a data structure that describes a format of the output domain. The input map and the output map are derivation trees, and the mapper utilizes the input map and the output map to build a scanner/parser for the input file domain. The mapper traverses the input map to parse data from the input file into a list.

  • Patent number: 6088659
Abstract: An automated meter reading (AMR) server having an open, distributed architecture that collects, loads, and manages system-wide data collected from energy meters and routes the data automatically to upstream business systems. The AMR server includes a repository of metering data, and additionally provides timely access to information by including collection, storage, validation, estimation, editing, publishing and securing of meter consumption and interval data. The AMR server obtains data from meters equipped with modems via standard telephone lines or public RF networks. The data is converted from the format of the meter/communications infrastructure to a format usable by the AMR server and the repository. The data is converted from the AMR-compatible form to a format of a specific upstream business system prior to transmission. The data may also be validated in accordance with the upstream business system requirements.

  • Patent number: 5794878
Abstract: A conventional webbing-locking inertia reel is modified by integration of a device for the prevention of slap-back lock of the inertia reel upon excessively rapid retraction of the webbing worn by a seat occupant as a safety belt and/or harness. The device also slows the retraction of the webbing enough to prevent a hard collision of the webbing stop at the inertia reel. This is accomplished by interacting the reel shaft with a specially designed damping disk so that both the shaft and the damping disk rotate counter-clockwise when an external force pulls the webbing from its rotatable spool, while simultaneously the shaft also interacts with a conventional housed return spring, causing it to wind and build up a rewinding force, which, when the external force is removed or ceases, causes rotation of the shaft, spool, and damping disk clockwise and rewinds the webbing on the spool.
