  • Patent number: 7055900
Abstract: A ventilated support structure for a vehicle, such as a bicycle, comprises a seat surface supported on a rigid or semi-rigid frame. The seat surface having a slot extending along the top surface of the support structure. The slot has at least one opening disposed therein. The support structure further comprises an air intake component positioned at the anterior of the support structure. The air intake component may be oriented at least partly in a direction of forward travel of the vehicle. A channel communicates the air intake component with the at least one opening in the slot so that air enters through the slot via the air intake component.

  • Patent number: 6629728
Abstract: A ventilated support structure for a vehicle, such as a bicycle, comprising an upper side having a seat surface which is supported on a rigid or semi-rigid frame on which is anchored elastically flexible padding there between. The support structure may further comprise an aperture in an anterior portion of the frame. The aperture may be oriented at least partly in a direction of forward travel of the vehicle. An air distribution channel is connected to the aperture and is also connected to a plurality of air discharge openings to ventilate the seat surface.

  • Publication number: 20020093229
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a support structure for a vehicle, such as a bicycle. Specifically, the support structure of the present invention comprises an upper side having a seat surface which is supported on a rigid or semi-rigid frame. An elastically flexible padding is positioned between the seat surface and frame. The support structure of the present invention further comprises an aperture in an anterior portion of the frame. The aperture is oriented at least partly in a direction of forward travel of the vehicle. An air distribution channel is connected to the aperture. The air distribution channel is also connected to a plurality of air discharge openings positioned on the upper side of the seat surface, so that while the vehicle moves forwardly, air flows from the aperture to the discharge openings, thereby ventilating the seat surface.
