  • Publication number: 20240025143
Abstract: An apparatus to emit and/or receive electromagnetic waves, the apparatus including a first material having a high electrical permittivity, and a second material having a high magnetic permeability, wherein the first material contacts the second material while maintaining a dielectric enhancement between the first material and the second material by combining the first material and the second material under a low pressure.

  • Patent number: 11456536
Abstract: A resonant antenna for long-range wireless power transfer and communications. The antenna may be powered by a source at a frequency that is resonant for the antenna or harmonic(s) of the resonant frequency. The loop or antenna may be a wire laid out in a physically large network or constitute wiring of a building or other place. The antenna may be placed in a high index material, which results in the antenna to be a physically smaller size for the same electrical size. The antenna may be driven with an electrical power signal. Power may be picked up by another or secondary antenna from the source antenna at the resonant frequency or harmonic(s). Communications may also occur between the antennas. Because of a near-field effect, emanation of electromagnetic fields is primarily limited extensively to just between the antennas. A little stray electromagnetic field exists that others cannot easily intercept.

  • Patent number: 11181629
Abstract: A hand-held device for detecting an object is provided. The hand-held device comprising: a communication device including a plurality of antennas; a processor in communication with the communication device; a memory in communication with the communication device and the processor, the memory comprising computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations. The operations comprising: receiving at least one radio emission using the plurality of antennas; estimating a reference emission in response to the at least one radio emission; estimating an environment emission in response to the at least one radio emission; determining a pattern of interest in response to at least one of the reference emission and the environment emission; and identifying an object in response to the pattern of interest; wherein the hand-held device is sized to fit in a human hand.

  • Publication number: 20200358201
Abstract: A radar system is used to implement a method. The method includes transmitting radar signals from a radar system located in an environment having reflective surfaces, receiving reflected signals via an antenna, deriving angular information as a function of the antenna configuration, and providing an output as a function of the received reflected signals and the derived angular information, wherein the output is representative of a characteristic of the environment. The antenna may be a patch antenna with patches having overlapping gain patterns or patches arranged as a leaky wave antenna to provide information in received signals from which angular information is derivable.
