  • Patent number: 11644450
Abstract: A differential monitoring system of carbon dioxide levels within an associated building with a monitoring zone including a quantity of captured carbon dioxide and a reference zone that is spaced away from the monitoring zone. The differential monitoring system includes a first carbon dioxide monitoring inlet disposed within the monitoring zone. A second carbon dioxide monitoring inlet is disposed within the monitoring zone in spaced relation to the first carbon dioxide monitoring inlet and/or is disposed within the reference zone in spaced relation to the first carbon dioxide monitoring zone. A controller is operable to determine when a carbon dioxide level at the second carbon dioxide monitoring inlet exceeds a carbon dioxide level at the first carbon dioxide monitoring inlet by a predetermined differential threshold. The inlets can be part of an aspirated sampling system and/or part of a distributed sensor system. Methods of monitoring carbon dioxide levels are also included.

  • Patent number: 6223590
Abstract: The process is disclosed for transforming a liquid mixture sample in a pressurized container to a vapor phase sample of substantially the same concentration as in the liquid mixture which includes the combination of a coarse filter, a first orifice or pressure regulator device, a pressure cut-off switch or second pressure regulator, a coalescing filter, and a fitting for linking the device to an analytical device.

  • Patent number: 6100529
Abstract: An automatic no moving parts portable IR spectrometer for the purpose of analyzing automotive refrigerants comprising an IR source with intermittent output by electronic means not requiring an optical cavity or mechanical chopper, a gas cell which is activated via a one touch bellows to initiate a pressure switch triggering the analysis process, said gas cell followed by a non-imaging optical element which diverts the IR energy to a filter and detector equipped with a readout device to show analysis results.

  • Patent number: 5523837
Abstract: An essentially non-intrusive laser power meter is described which is dependent on the reflection of a minor fraction of energy from a laser beam. A small beam splitter positioned on the periphery of the laser beam directs a small amount of the beam's reflected energy to a silicon photodiode. The output signal from the photodiode is then sent to a meter readout to indicate the beam energy.

  • Patent number: 5519219
Abstract: There is described within a portable, battery-powered multiple filter infrared spectrometer consisting of a highly efficient optical system employing an infrared source with a chopper, from which IR energy passes through compound parabolic concentrators (CPC's) and is directed by a beamsplitter to the external sample, where the beam intersects with the sample via reflection and is returned through the CPC and beamsplitter to a stationary filter assembly and discrete detector array where the energy is converted to an A.C. (alternating current) signal. This current energizes an LED bar graph display for spectral identification. This method and apparatus is used to determine IR spectra of solids, liquids on a mirror, and gases in a container with a mirror to reflect light.
