  • Publication number: 20230191064
Abstract: A patient interface to deliver a flow of air at a positive pressure with respect to ambient air pressure to an entrance to the patient's airways to ameliorate sleep disordered breathing includes a frame assembly and a cushion assembly configured to removably and repeatably connect to the frame assembly. The frame assembly and the cushion assembly form at least part of a plenum chamber pressurizable to a therapeutic pressure. The cushion assembly comprises a one-piece construction including a seal-forming structure configured to form a seal with a region of a patient's face surrounding the entrance to the patient's airways and a frame connection structure configured to removably and repeatably connect the cushion assembly to the frame assembly. The seal-forming structure comprises a first elastomeric material and the frame connection structure comprises a second elastomeric material, the first elastomeric material comprising a lower durometer or hardness than the second elastomeric material.

  • Publication number: 20230181856
Abstract: A patient interface including a seal-forming structure having a mouth portion that forms at least part of the mouth plenum and is configured to seal around the patient's mouth and a nasal portion that is configured to seal with the patient's nares. The patient interface further includes a vent structure with a main body that is configured to be secured to the mouth portion and includes a vent wall with a plurality of vent holes, a receptacle, and a pair of anchor sockets located on opposing lateral sides of the receptacle. A cover for the vent includes a pair of anchor pegs on lateral sides of the cover. The anchor pegs are configured to be inserted into the anchor sockets to secure the cover to the main body. A diffuser is received within the receptacle between the anchor sockets and is sandwiched between the main body and the cover.

  • Patent number: 11471634
Abstract: A patient interface including a seal-forming structure having a mouth portion that forms at least part of the mouth plenum and is configured to seal around the patient's mouth and a nasal portion that is configured to seal with the patient's nares. The nasal portion includes a nasal plenum positioned to receive pressurized gas from the mouth plenum. The seal-forming structure also includes a clip configured to connect the mouth plenum to the nasal plenum and act as a conduit for the flow of the pressurized gas from the mouth plenum to the nasal plenum. The clip includes a mouth portion end configured to engage the mouth portion, a nasal portion end configured to engage the nasal portion, and a pair of wings protruding from the nasal portion end into an interior of the nasal plenum so that the wings engage an interior surface of the nasal plenum.

  • Publication number: 20200069436
Abstract: This invention concerns an artificial intervertebral disc for installation in an intervertebral space between adjacent vertebral bodies. The artificial intervertebral disc prosthesis comprises an upper plate, a lower plate and a mobile core element, which is, in use, located between the upper and lower plates. The mobile core element includes a first contoured surface that has a flexion/extension radius that is larger by a determined amount than the radius of its second contoured surface that results in an instantaneous centre of rotation below the midline of the intervertebral disc space, thereby approximating the typical instantaneous centre of rotation of a natural disc. The first contoured surface of the mobile core element has a lateral bending radius that is unequal to the value of the flexion/extension radius, thereby allowing the mobile core element to self-centre on the second surface of the upper plate when under preload.
