  • Patent number: 10853645
Abstract: A method for remote visual inspection of a target surface of a structure, comprising positioning an inspection unit at a fixed location, the inspection unit comprising a combination of dynamic digital video cameras and an optic supported by a pitch axis of a multi-axis assembly comprising three moveable axis, including a vertical axis, a roll axis connected to the vertical axis, and the pitch axis, the pitch axis being connected to the roll axis; and a controller connected to the combination and the multi-axis assembly; adjusting the positioned inspection relative to the target surface; calibrating a target surface of the structure; taking images of the calibrated surface of the structure, each image including at least position data of the target surface and angular data of the inspection unit; and detecting, in the images, defects on the target surface, and, from the position data and angular data, positioning the defects on the target surface and determining the dimensions of the defects.

  • Patent number: 10354138
Abstract: A method and a system for remote visual inspection of a target surface of a structure, the system comprising a multi-axis assembly; a combination of dynamic digital video cameras and optic supported by said multi-axis assembly; and a controller connected to the cameras and the multi-axis assembly; wherein the multi-axis assembly comprises a turret along a vertical axis, the turret being connected at a top part thereof to a first arm extending along a roll axis, the first arm being connected to a second arm along a pitch axis, the cameras and optic being carried by the second arm.

  • Publication number: 20070012508
Abstract: A liner assembly for a duct includes noise attenuation panel for dissipating sound energy generated within the duct. A damage resistant acoustic panel for installation in high velocity impact prone locations includes a plurality of openings for communicating noise signals to the noise attenuation panel. At lease some of the openings includes a first diameter that extends a depth into the acoustic panel. The depth is no greater than the first diameter. A second portion extends the remainder of the thickness into the acoustic panel and includes a diameter greater than the first diameter. The increased area provided by the second diameter reduces restriction to the transmission of sound energy to the noise attenuation panel within an acoustic panel thickness required for protecting against foreign object damage.

  • Publication number: 20050106009
Abstract: A gas turbine engine compressor has a number of shroud rings, at least a bleed one of which defines a number of bleed ports. A structural hub is downstream of the shroud rings and secured relative to the shroud rings. A structural hub case extends from an aft joint with the structural hub to a fore joint with a joined one of the shroud rings and has a number of valve ports. At least a portion of the structural case extends structurally between the fore and aft joints. A valve element is shiftable between first and second conditions for respectively blocking and not blocking communication through the valve ports.
