  • Patent number: 11384636
Abstract: A method for normalizing a chemical tracer response in a zone can include measuring a concentration of the tracer as produced from a proximal zone, measuring a concentration of a reference tracer as produced from the proximal zone, and applying a mathematical correction to a concentration of the tracer as produced from the zone. Another method can include normalizing a chemical tracer concentration to a reference tracer concentration, and then allocating flow to a zone corresponding to the tracer based on the normalized tracer concentration. Another method can include injecting a first chemical tracer into a first wellbore reference zone and into additional producing zones of the first wellbore, injecting a second chemical tracer into a second wellbore reference zone and into additional producing zones of the second wellbore, and injecting a third chemical tracer into each of the additional producing zones of the first and second wellbores.

  • Publication number: 20210189229
Abstract: A chemical tracer particle can include a polymer core, a tracer chemical embedded in the polymer core, and an outer layer surrounding the polymer core, the outer layer including a surfactant. A method of tracing flow of well fluid from each of multiple stages in a well can include injecting into each stage a respective one of multiple chemical tracers, each of the chemical tracers including chemical tracer particles, each of the chemical tracer particles including a polymer core, a tracer chemical embedded in the polymer core, and an outer layer surrounding the polymer core, the outer layer including a surfactant, and producing the chemical tracers from the stages. A method of producing a chemical tracer particle can include generating a polymer core having a tracer chemical embedded therein, and surrounding the polymer core with an outer layer including a surfactant.

  • Publication number: 20200124451
Abstract: A method to allocate single-phase fluid flow rate in a flowline system, the fluid flowing from multiple sources into a common collector. The method can include pulse injection of one or more tracers into the flowline system, and measurement of the tracer concentration downstream. The tracer concentration detection can be performed after the fluids from multiple sources commingle together. The mean transit time for each tracer can be calculated by applying the method of moments. The flow rate from each source can be further calculated by listing and solving all tracers' transport equations.

  • Publication number: 20190202866
Abstract: Provided herein are recombinant viral nanoparticles (VNPs) which comprise truncated viral proteins. The VNPs may be mosaic VNPs which are activatable at desired levels. The VNPs may be used to administer therapeutic agents to target cells.
