  • Patent number: 11179990
Abstract: A bushing collar assembly on a vehicle includes a subframe formed of a first material and a bushing collar formed of a second material. The subframe has an engagement face. The bushing collar has a sleeve shaped main body defining axial end faces. At least one of the axial end faces has a plurality of spaced apart nubs disposed thereon that are configured to deform and fully embed into the engagement face of the subframe upon application of a predetermined compressive force.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 9643645
Abstract: A ball stud system that provides a ball stud that will not loosen easily under the application of repetitive side loading on the ball portion of the stud. The ball stud is secured to the vehicle steering knuckle arm using the combination of a tapered nut and tapered washer. The tapered nut includes slots and the pin of the ball stud an aperture. A cotter pin may be placed through the slots and aperture in order to further prevent rotation of the nut.

  • Patent number: 7823863
Abstract: A spare tire hoist may be provided. A retention cable may be used to retain a spare tire against a surface of a motor vehicle. A tensioning spring may be used to tension the retention cable when the spare tire is in a storage position. A wheel plate engages the spare tire and cooperates with the retention cable and the tensioning spring to maintain the spare tire in the storage position. The wheel plate may include an insert portion that engages a center aperture of a wheel rim of the spare tire. A flange portion that substantially surrounds the insert portion and engages a peripheral surface of the wheel rim may also be provided. A reinforcement ring may be included in the wheel plate, substantially coextensive with the insert portion and extending within a substantially hollow region of the flange portion. The reinforcement ring may provide mechanical reinforcement to the wheel plate.
