  • Publication number: 20240133900
Abstract: A unique pipeline is employed for biomarker discovery that entailed domain antibody phage display, next generation sequencing analysis, and nanotechnology strategies to generate antibody mimetics are disclosed. Also disclosed are the temporal biomarkers of traumatic brain injury and their methods of use. In some embodiments, the temporal biomarkers are synthetic peptides comprising the HCDR3 sequences identified using the disclosed pipeline. In some aspects, the synthetic peptides have less than 30 amino acid residues and comprise a biotin scaffold that is linked to the HCDR3 sequences.

  • Publication number: 20240091309
Abstract: Synthetic antimicrobial peptides, compositions comprising thereof, and methods of use for modulating one or more symptoms of an infection in a subject are disclosed. In some aspects, the infection is caused by mycobacteria, for example, a nontuberculous mycobacterium such as Mycobacterium abscessus. In other aspects, the infection is caused by Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, or methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Also disclosed are methods of identifying synthetic antimicrobial peptides against a pathogen with no known effective treatment using a library of synthetic peptides.

  • Publication number: 20130224730
Abstract: A method of solid phase selection of peptide ligands for target proteins is presented. 15-20mers or greater are addressed in a microarray, and the target protein and optional competitor bound thereto and binding compared. A specific signal for the target protein indicates that a peptide has strong affinity for the target. Ligands can be coupled to solid supports and used for affinity purification of the target proteins as well as detection and modulation of target proteins. Specific peptide ligands for immuno-purifying norovirus.
