  • Publication number: 20200333866
Abstract: A control system is disclosed that controls both regular and smart high power usage devices based on real time pricing information. An end user through a user interface sets a trigger price above which the device will shut down or reduce power usage. The control system will operate independently of any system operator or utility and is controlled solely by the end user. A method is disclosed to elicit an end user's preferred trigger price (the price above which to reduce power to the high power usage device). The control system allows end users to override their pre-defined trigger prices to deliver preferable outcomes in response to external and environmental factors. In addition, a method to protect pool equipment from winter freeze events while responding to real time price signals is also disclosed, along with a temperature override device.

  • Publication number: 20090285385
Abstract: Customers queuing in the contact center are provided with the option to request a ticket number. Upon a ticket number being generated for the customer, the customer may disconnect or hang up, and an absentee contact is maintained in a queuing system. This allows the customer to reconnect within a predefined period and regain a place in a queue, possibly at a more advantageous position or at the top of the queue. Alternatively, the customer may reconnect at a less favorable position, but without having to re-enter all customer details in order to be allocated to an appropriate queue.

  • Publication number: 20050114790
Abstract: A graphical user interface displays a plurality of sections of information. Each section has a heading which comprises a link. The links can be selected by a user to collapse or expand information in the section. In addition, automatic scrolling takes place to scroll expanded information substantially into view. When a section is collapsed or expanded the associated heading is marked for a pre-specified time to aid the user in returning his or her attention to the appropriate region of the display, despite the use of the automatic scrolling. In addition, marks are used to indicate regions of the display where user entered information needs to be added or corrected.
