  • Publication number: 20130003991
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method of adjusting a volume level for an audio signal for a communication device to comply with a quality threshold. The method comprises: monitoring for an increase in the volume level; and upon determining that implementing the increase in the volume level would produce an output that would exceed the audio frequency pass mask, processing a digitized signal value of the audio signal to produce a first output signal value for the audio signal implementing the increase in the volume level utilizing a digital signal processing (DSP) device in the communication device, a processing filter defined in the digital signal processing device, a first set of adjustment parameters and the digitized signal value.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method of adjusting a volume level for an audio signal for a communication device to comply with a quality threshold. The method comprises: obtaining a digitized signal value of the audio signal and monitoring for an increase in the volume level. • Publication number: 20100224638
Abstract: A superhydrophilic thin film is formed on a metal surface of a boiler vessel to alter the wettability and roughness of the surface, which, in turn, changes the boiling behavior at the surface. The superhydrophilic film is formed by depositing a layer of a first ionic species on the surface from a solution. A second ionic species having a charge opposite to the that of the first ionic species is then deposited from solution onto the surface to produce a bilayer of the first ionic species and the oppositely charged second ionic species. The depositions are then repeated to form a plurality of bilayers, on top of the preceding bilayer. The bilayers are then heated, leaving the second ionic species on the metal surface to form a superhydrophilic film.

  • Patent number: 7670265
Abstract: A handle toss training apparatus can be utilized to aid in improving a person's balance, coordination, and skills respective to a maneuver commonly referred to as a handle pass. The handle toss training apparatus includes a balancing board with a base. The base provides a rotational, a rolling, and a pitch motion for the balancing board. A handle is fastened to a wall via a cable. Tension for the handle is created by the specific material used for fabrication of the cable or by a variable weight system.

  • Patent number: 7574010
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method of adjusting an audio signal for a communication device. The method comprises: identifying a characteristic associated with the signal and identifying its quality threshold; identifying a first set of adjustment parameters for the signal when the threshold is exceeded; and identifying a second set of adjustment parameters when it is not exceeded. Also, the device: monitors for a current setting value for the characteristic; and detects whether the current setting value is above or below the quality threshold. If the value is above, then the device produces a first output signal value utilizing a DSP, a processing filter defined in the DSP, values of the first set of adjustment parameters and the signal value. If the value is below, the device produces a second output signal value utilizing the DSP, the filter, values of the second set of adjustment parameters and the signal value.

  • Publication number: 20090187170
Abstract: An ophthalmic surgery light transmitting apparatus has an optic fiber having a flexible length with a light source connector mounted on one end of the optic fiber and the opposite end of the optic fiber being adapted to be mounted to an ophthalmic surgery instrument to provide illumination for the instrument. The cross-sectional area of the optic fiber transitions as it extends from the end connected to the light source connector to the opposite end of the optic fiber. The optic fiber transitions from a larger cross-sectional area of the optic fiber at the light source connector to a smaller cross-sectional area of the optic fiber at the opposite end.

  • Patent number: 7509377
Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention for passing, by one or more application servers, images from a broadcaster computer to a first viewer computer may include receiving a request to initiate one or more server connections between the broadcaster computer and the first viewer computer. The connections being for passing an image and an instant message. The method also includes facilitating a peer-to-peer connection between the broadcaster computer and the first viewer computer. The peer-to-peer connection being for passing the image. The method also includes facilitating communication of an image over the peer-to-peer connection instead of the server connections, thereby conserving bandwidth of the servers.

  • Publication number: 20050146108
Abstract: A non-torque reactive air suspension exhibiting excellent roll stability characteristics is shown to include frame hangers mounted to frame rails extending longitudinally on opposite sides of a vehicle. Longitudinally extending beams are connected to the frame hangers at one end and extend parallel to the frame rails. At their other ends, the beams are joined by a crossbrace extending laterally across the vehicle centerline. In a central portion thereof, the beams have an axle pivot bore to which an axle clamp assembly is connected, the axle clamp assembly clamping a drive axle housing for the vehicle. The axle pivot bore is generally aligned with the drive axle. A control rod assembly is connected to suspension or frame components. Together with the beams, the control rod assembly forms a parallelogram configuration wherein the beams form the lower linkages of that configuration and the control rods included within the control rod assembly form the upper linkages of that configuration.
