  • Publication number: 20240095920
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for processing an electronic image corresponding to a specimen. One method for processing the electronic image includes: receiving a target electronic image of a slide corresponding to a target specimen, the target specimen including a tissue sample from a patient, applying a machine learning system to the target electronic image to determine deficiencies associated with the target specimen, the machine learning system having been generated by processing a plurality of training images to predict stain deficiencies and/or predict a needed recut, the training images including images of human tissue and/or images that are algorithmically generated; and based on the deficiencies associated with the target specimen, determining to automatically order an additional slide to be prepared.

  • Patent number: 9776940
Abstract: A process for production of acrylic acid includes preparing a product gas mixture by a catalytic gas-phase oxidation of a C3 precursor; cooling and contacting the cooled product gas mixture in an absorption column having at least two cooling loops in countercurrent with an absorbent to obtain an absorbate A, containing the absorbent and absorbed acrylic acid; condensing a high boiler fraction of the product gas mixture in a first cooling loop; condensing a low boiler fraction of the product gas mixture in a second cooling loop; maintaining a temperature of the absorbate A in the second cooling loop at a value of at least 56° C.; removing an acid water stream comprising glyoxal from the absorption column at a side take-off located above the second cooling loop; and removing a stream F of absorbate A from the absorption column at a side take-off, located at a height of the absorption column between the first cooling loop and the second cooling loop.

  • Publication number: 20170036982
Abstract: The invention is related to a process for production of acrylic acid comprising the following steps: a) preparation of a product gas mixture by a catalytic gas-phase oxidation of at least one C3 precursor compound to acrylic acid, wherein acrylic acid is formed as a main product of the catalytic gas-phase oxidation and glyoxal is formed as a by-product and the product gas mixture comprises acrylic acid and glyoxal, b) cooling of the product gas mixture, c) contacting the product gas mixture in countercourrent with an absorbent, wherein an absorbate A, comprising the absorbent and absorbed acrylic acid, is formed, d) introducing a feed stream F (2) comprising at least part of the absorbate A into a rectification column comprising a rectifying section and a stripping section, e) enriching the absorbent in the stripping section and enriching acrylic acid in the rectifying section, f) withdrawing a stream C of crude acrylic acid comprising at least 90% by weight of acrylic acid out of the rectifying section as a

  • Patent number: 7463361
Abstract: A passive optical system substantially simultaneously separates light received at an optical input into three or more output light beams on optical outputs. The output light beams may have intensities that are proportional to intensities of optical projections of the received light onto three or more basis vectors of a tetrahedral basis set of a Stokes space. The system includes either multiple partial polarization splitters or multiple optical interferometers.

  • Publication number: 20060078259
Abstract: A latching mechanism for releasably engaging an optical module with an outer housing (referred to as a “cage”) includes a bail handle that is pivotally attached to a front end of the optical module, allowing the bail handle to rotate between a first, engaged position and a second, disengaged position. The bail handle includes a pair of slide arms that move along the sidewalls of the optical module as the bail handle is rotated, the slide arms moving backward to affect disengagement and moving forward to affect engagement between the optical module and the housing. The optical module includes a pair of channels that support the pair of slide arms as they move between the engaged/disengaged positions such that when the pair of slide arms is in the forward, engaged position, the end portion of each channel is exposed such that a pair of locking tabs formed on the housing will enter the end portions and provide the engagement of the optical module to the housing.

  • Publication number: 20060006526
Abstract: The specification describes electrical assemblies comprising actively cooled components wherein a thermal interposer is used to limit heat transfer between the ambient and the cooled components. The thermal interposer is effective for transmitting signals for both power/ground and RF. Structurally, the thermal interposer comprises thin conductors in various configurations that convey electrical signals but significantly limit heat flow.
