Publication number: 20080053447Abstract: An adapter for use with a gas filter canister worn by a user as part of a breathing apparatus. The adapter is constructed of a semi-rigid plastic that has a plurality of scalloped or castellated edges. The scalloped or castellated edges allow the adapter to snap-fit over the top of the canister. Projections or lugs on the inside of the edge of the adapter can deflect and snap over the rim of the canister. An adapter seal in the form of a large preformed packing or O-ring, is pressed between the inside of the adapter top and the outside of the canister top such that an airtight seal is formed. The adapter is capable of moving relative to the filter canister to accommodate different positions of the flexible conduit between an adapter inlet and the outlet of a self contained blower assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 29, 2007Publication date: March 6, 2008Inventors: John A. Ratajczak, Christopher G. Estkowski

Patent number: 6783566Abstract: A filter cartridge assembly including a replendam that combines a particulate filter with an irregular shaped gas sorbent bed. Best operational practice requires that the air passing through the filter be distributed uniformly over the sorbent bed. The repledam directs the air over the surface of the larger sorbent bed utilizing vane-like structures extending from the reticulated member providing for uniform distribution.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2001Date of Patent: August 31, 2004Assignee: Scott Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Christopher G. Estkowski

Patent number: 5232265Abstract: A mechanism for vertical adjustability and securement of a backrest of a chair on the upright support of the chair having a housing which includes first and second housing members, and a pair of link assemblies, pivotally connected and movable between a locked position and an unlocked position. A resilient sleeve is carried by one of the link assemblies and is engageable against the upright support when the link assemblies are in the locked position to grip the upright support between the sleeve and a rod to prohibit vertical movement of the housing with respect to the upright support.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 1992Date of Patent: August 3, 1993Assignee: Shepherd Products U.S., Inc.Inventors: Michael H. Patent number: 5230571Abstract: A bearing assembly comprising a roller mechanism and a cage member. The roller mechanism includes a plurality of roller members and a plurality of frangible connector links for initially connecting each roller member to an adjacent roller member. The roller members and the connector links are integrally molded together. The cage member includes a circular flange and a plurality of spacer pegs extending perpendicular from the flange in a circular configuration. The pegs are spaced apart from one another and each peg includes a tip having a hollow chamber adapted to receive and store a connector link. The pegs are adapted to be inserted between adjacent roller members during assembly such that when the cage member and the roller mechanism are pressed together, the pegs will sever the connector links from the roller members and will retain the severed connector links in the chambers of the peg tips. The severed roller members are then free to independently rotate within the cage member.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1992Date of Patent: July 27, 1993Assignee: Shepherd Products U.S., Inc.Inventors: Michael H. Estkowski, Christopher G. Estkowski
