  • Patent number: 8161392
Abstract: A system and methods for connecting a computer and at least one computing appliance to a graphic user interface comprising a display and peripheral devices is disclosed. A user interface session is associated with a computer connected to the graphic user interface by a network connection. A second user interface session, comprising a display overlay and new user interface settings is established in response to a user event such as a telephony event associated with the computing appliance. In an embodiment, user settings are adjusted on an ongoing basis in response to input device events.

  • Patent number: 6985967
Abstract: A data processing system including a plurality of web server processing cards coupled with a midplane is provided. A first network interface card may be coupled with each of the web server processing cards through the midplane. Each of the plurality of web server processing cards may be coupled with a public network communication router over a first communication path. The public network communication router may be coupled with a public network and operable to route data packets to and from the web server processing cards. In accordance with one embodiment, each of the plurality of web server processing cards may be coupled with a private network communication router, over a second communication path. In this embodiment, the private network communication router may be coupled with at least one private processing system operable to provide processing services upon receipt of a processing request from one of the plurality of web server processing cards.

  • Patent number: 6757748
Abstract: A network interface card including a printed circuit board is provided. First and second connectors may be coupled with the printed circuit board. A plurality of ethernet communication links form at least a portion of a coupling between the first and second connectors, wherein the first connector is configured to receive a third connector associated with a midplane. A chip may be coupled with the printed circuit board wherein the plurality of ethernet communication links couple the first connector with the chip. A second communication link may also be provided which couples the chip and the second connector. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention the chip consolidates data received through the first connector for distribution of the data to the second connector. In a particular embodiment, the chip may include a hub chip. In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the chip may include a switch chip.

  • Publication number: 20040059850
Abstract: A server processing card includes a system board having a first printed circuit board operable to couple a central processing unit, a dynamic memory integrated circuit, at least first network interface integrated circuitry, and a first expansion connector. An in-line board may be coupled with the system board, the in-line board comprising a second printed circuit board, at least one component, and a second expansion connector complimentary to the first expansion connector such that the coupling of the first expansion connector with the second expansion connector allows the at least one component to cooperate with the system board to enhance functionality of the server processing card. In accordance with a particular embodiment of the present invention the second printed circuit board extends along a plane generally parallel with the first printed circuit board.
