Abstract: Method and apparatuses for diffuse optical tomography (DOT) are disclosed herein. A DOT device includes a substrate, one or more radiation sources, a plurality of detectors, and structures disposed over the second surface of the plurality of detectors. The one or more radiation sources are disposed over or under a surface of the substrate. Each detector of the plurality of detectors has a first surface and a second surface. The first surface is opposite the second surface. The first surface of the plurality of detectors disposed over or under the surface of the substrate. The method of DOT method of includes emitting and scattering radiation from one or more sources of a DOT device; detecting scattered radiation with a plurality of detectors of the DOT device; and translating the scattered radiation that is detected into data.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a short-range communication device (10, 10?, 5 10?) for a personal protective equipment or a personal protective device (200, 210, 220, 230) comprising a transmission unit (20, 20?, 20?) for wirelessly transmitting a voice signal of a user (100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160) to a receiving unit (40,40?, 40?) over a predetermined distance such that a communication channel is established between the transmission unit (20, 20?, 20?) and the receiving unit (40, 40?, 40?) so that a user (100, 10 110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160) can hear the voice signal. The present disclosure further relates to a short-range communication system comprising at least two short-range communication devices (10, 10?, 10?) according to the present disclosure and to a method of establishing a short-range communication between such devices (10, 10?, 10?).

Abstract: A geneva mechanism has a slotted geneva wheel and a driving cam wheel engageable with the geneva wheel to impart stepwise rotation thereto. The geneva wheel carries rollers, two of which are simultaneously engageable by a first part-cylindrical surface on the cam wheel to lock the geneva wheel against rotation. This simultaneous engagement imparts a slight resilient stress to the parts and thereby prevents backlash movement during the locked condition. Additionally a second, parallel part-cylindrical surface on the cam wheel co-operates with the first such surface and with two of the geneva wheel rollers to maintain the geneva wheel under control of the cam wheel as the latter starts and ends its driving engagement.
