  • Patent number: 11534808
Abstract: Prior to the rolling of a flat rolling material (2) on a rolling line that includes a number of roll stands (1), a control system (3) receives actual variables (I) and target variables (Z) of the material (2). The control system (3) determines desired values (S*) for the roll stands (1), based on the actual (I) and target variables (Z) in combination with a model (10) of the rolling line, such that expected variables (E1) of the material (2) after its rolling are aligned as far as possible with the target variables (Z) and transfers the desired values (S*) to the roll stands (1) such that the material (2) is rolled according to the desired values (S*). The target variables (Z) comprise at least one freely selectable, discrete characteristic variable (K1 to K5, K2? to K4?, K2? to K4?) defining the contour (K) of the flat rolling material (2).

Abstract: A rolling line for rolling a flat rolling material (2) includes a number of roll stands (1). Prior to the rolling, a control system (3) receives actual variables (I) of the material (2) before the rolling and target variables (Z) after the rolling. The control system (3) determines desired control variables (S*) for the roll stands (1), based on the actual (I) and target variables (Z), in combination with a description (B) of the rolling line, using a model (10) of the rolling line. The control system (3) determines the desired values (S*) such that expected variables (E1) for the material (2) after its rolling are aligned as far as possible with the target variables (Z). The control system (3) transfers the desired values (S*) to the roll stands (1) such that the material (2) is rolled according to the transferred desired values (S*).

  • Patent number: 10011897
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for hot-dip coating a metal strip with a metal covering, wherein the metal strip is directed continuously through a melt bath, wherein the thickness of the metal covering present on the metal strip when it leaves the melt bath is adjusted by means of a scraping device, and wherein slag which is present on the melt bath is driven away from the metal strip leaving the melt bath by means of a gas flow. To prevent slag from coming into contact with the metal strip leaving the melt bath, the invention drives away the slag from the metal strip by means of at least one nozzle which is arranged in close proximity to the metal strip, that a gas flow which extends over the width of the metal strip is directed onto the surface of the melt bath.

  • Patent number: 9803270
Abstract: A method which allows process-stable hot-dip coating of Ni-alloy steel flat products in a cost- and resource-effective manner, including the following steps: a) provision of a steel flat product obtained by cold- or hot-rolling; b) within 1-30 s, heating the steel flat product to a holding temperature between 700 and 1100° C., under a heating atmosphere of N2; c) holding the steel flat product at the holding temperature for a holding duration of 10-120 s under a holding atmosphere of N2; d) cooling the steel flat product from the holding temperature to a strip inlet temperature of 430-800° C.; and e) passing the steel flat product through an inlet zone, in which an inert or reducing inlet atmosphere predominates, and passing the steel flat product through a melt bath, wherein TP1>TP2>TP4.

  • Patent number: 9737921
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for strip guidance in a hot medium, comprising a deflection roller (3, 38) which has two roller pins (23, 39) and is mounted to supporting arms (1, 2, 34, 37, 54, 57) by means of ceramic journal bearings (20, 31), wherein the journal bearings (20, 31) are in each case arranged in a bearing receptacle (45, 55) of the associated supporting arm (1, 2, 34, 37, 54, 57). The invention is characterized in that at least one of the journal bearings (20, 31) in its associated supporting arm (1, 2, 34, 37, 54, 57) is fixed in the bearing receptacle (45, 55) by means of a force-fit that engages on the outer edge of the journal bearing (20, 31) and balances the different heat expansion coefficients of the journal bearings (20, 31) and the bearing receptacle (45, 55).

  • Patent number: 9683598
Abstract: The invention relates to the field of materials science and to a device for reducing pressure in cavities in media at higher temperatures, such as those devices which can be used for devices for hot-dip coating metal materials in the metal processing industry for example. The aim of the invention is to provide a device by means of which pressure can be reduced in the cavity of the hollow bodies in a reliable and controlled manner and simultaneously the penetration of the media can be delayed or completely prevented at the higher temperatures. This is achieved by a device for reducing pressure in hollow bodies in media at higher temperatures, wherein at least one opening to the cavity of the hollow body is provided in hollow body regions which are not used for the intended application, said opening being closed from the medium surrounding the hollow body by at least one component made of a gas-permeable metal or ceramic material.

  • Patent number: 9562278
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for strip guidance in a hot medium, comprising a deflection roller (3, 38) mounted on supporting arms (1, 2, 34, 37, 54, 57) and a carrier device holding the supporting arms (1, 2, 34, 37, 54, 57). The device is characterized in that one of the supporting arms (1, 2, 34, 37, 54, 57) is mounted on the carrier device by means of a floating bearing (5), wherein the floating bearing (5) allows the mounted supporting arm on the carrier device to move parallel to the longitudinal direction of the deflection roller (3, 38), and in that an elastic counter element (12), which acts parallel to the longitudinal direction of the deflection roller (3, 38) upon the supporting arm (1, 2, 34, 37, 54, 57) mounted on the floating bearing (5), is present and counteracts an increasing distance between the supporting arms (1, 2, 34, 37, 54, 57).
