    Abstract: A gear positioning system comprising a first and second gear retention member each has an exterior surface formed with a plurality of recesses. Each of the recesses is similarly configured essentially in the shape of a gear tooth with sidewalls there between. Each of the sidewalls has a central line of symmetry and with the mid-point of the central lines located within the recesses is in an arcuate configuration having a center of curvature of rotation coincident with the center of curvature of a received gear.
