Publication number: 20240346935Abstract: Systems and methods for managing an inspection path of an unmanned inspection device. The method begins with generating a randomized time for a UAV inspection path using a randomizing time function. Next, predicted inspection path information is accessed for the randomized time of the UAV inspection path. An inspection path is generated for the randomized time based on the predicted inspection path information accessed. A UAV is programmed to traverse the inspection path. Before the UAV departs, the system confirms the current predicted inspection path information compared to one or more of the predicted inspection path information. In response, the current predicted inspection path information is with a threshold level of the predicted inspection path information or the predicted inspection path was last inspected more than a given time period, initiating operation of the UAV to traverse the inspection path, and otherwise, generating a new randomized time and new inspection path.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 11, 2023Publication date: October 17, 2024Inventors: Matthew HARVEY, CHRISTOPHER HEATH MCLEMORE, William DORR, Kyle BUSH, Eric SCHWARTZ, Michael WENELL

Patent number: 10272630Abstract: A method of making a preformed seal includes coupling first and second sections of a mold to define a mold cavity. A cross-sectional shape of the mold cavity corresponds to a cross-sectional shape of the preformed seal. The method also includes providing a reservoir that has a port in flow communication with a reservoir cavity that extends to a parting surface. The method further includes filling the reservoir cavity with wet sealant such that the wet sealant is flush with the parting surface and a bead of wet sealant protrudes from the port. Additionally, the method includes coupling the reservoir to the first and second sections such that the reservoir cavity is in flow communication with the mold cavity at the parting surface, injecting wet sealant from a nozzle through the reservoir into the mold cavity, and curing the wet sealant in the mold cavity to make the preformed seal.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2016Date of Patent: April 30, 2019Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventor: Jonathan Christopher Heath
