  • Patent number: 9833071
Abstract: A stabilizing arrangement (1) to support an object above four ground engaging means (2c,3c,4c,5c) has first 2, second 3, third 4 and fourth 5 levers each having a beam portion (2a,3a,4a,5a), an actuating portion (2b,3b,4b,5b) and a ground engaging means (2c,3c,4c,5c). Each lever is connected to a common interconnection means (6) by a respective pivot with a pivot axis. The levers engage consecutively first to second, second to third, third to fourth and fourth to first, via respective projections (2d,3d,4d,5d) permitting ground engaging means warp displacement and thereby the arrangement provides support of the object on uneven ground. For each lever part, the distance a between the respective ground engaging means and the respective pivot axis is a primary lever-rotating moment arm, and the distance b between the respective ground engaging means and the centre of the pivot is a friction loading distance. The friction loading distance b can be greater than or equal to the primary lever-rotating moment arm a.

  • Publication number: 20060144311
Abstract: A water craft (77) is disclosed which includes a chassis portion (78), at least four water engaging means (30, 34, 38, 42) and interconnecting means (94, 96, 98, 100, 102, 104, 106, 108, 110, 112, 114, 116, 118, 120, 122, 124, 126, 128, 130, 132). Each water engaging means is connected to the chassis portion (78) and is moveable in a substantially vertical direction relative to the chassis portion (78), and the interconnection means is arranged to functionally link the at least four water engaging means (30, 34, 38, 42) such that during use the chassis portion is encouraged to maintain an orientation which is substantially constant relative to the average plane of the water surface, even when the water surface is undulating and the water engaging means (30, 34, 38, 42) are not all disposed in the same plane.

  • Publication number: 20050001401
Abstract: A roll control system for a vehicle suspension system and a method for controlling the control system is disclosed. The vehicle has at least one pair of laterally spaced front wheel assemblies and at least one pair of laterally spaced rear wheel assemblies. Each wheel assembly includes a wheel and a wheel mounting permitting wheel movement in a generally vertical direction relative to the vehicle body, and vehicle support means for providing at least substantially a major portion of the support for the vehicle. The roll control system includes: wheel cylinders respectively locatable between each wheel mounting and the vehicle body. Each wheel cylinder includes an inner volume separated into first and second chambers by a piston supported within, and first and second fluid circuits respectively providing fluid connection between the wheel cylinders by fluid conduits.

  • Patent number: 5601306
Abstract: A vehicle suspension system comprising a vehicle body supported upon a plurality of wheels arranged in lateral and longitudinal spaced relation. Individual double acting fluid rams connected between each wheel and the vehicle body to provide the support for the body, each ram having an upper and lower hydraulic chamber. Conduits individually communicating the upper chamber of the respective rams with the lower chamber of the respective diagonally opposite ram and fluid reservoir, and fluid pump arranged to draw fluid from the reservoir. Body attitude control means operable to connect each conduit individually to the pump or reservoir to respectively supply fluid to or receive fluid from the connected conduit. Individual actuators operable in response to the disposition of a respective wheel relative to the vehicle body to effect selective actuation of the control means to connect the circuit of that wheel to the pump or reservoir to maintain a preselected attitude of the vehicle body.
