  • Publication number: 20100135471
Abstract: A database and communications server allow for composure of a family disaster plan that is tailored to the demographic and geographic information provided by a subscriber to the disclosed system. In the event of an emergency, relevant portions of a family disaster plan are communicated to a subscriber and the family members of the subscriber. Each subscribing family member may communicate with the database, which in turn automatically distributes the message to all family members. After the disaster has ended, insurance information is relayed to the subscriber, and the subscriber's insurance companies are notified.

  • Publication number: 20090326000
Abstract: A method is provided for preventing or treating obesity and for reducing the percentage body fat content of an individual. The method involves administration, preferably topical administration, of an active agent selected from the group consisting of resveratrol, pharmacologically acceptable salts, esters, amides, and analogs thereof, and combinations of any of the foregoing. Topical formulations for use in conjunction with the method for reducing the percentage body fat content of an individual are provided as well.

  • Patent number: 7501900
Abstract: A novel circuit for obtaining the bandwidth of a phase-locked loop circuit is disclosed. The circuit adjusts a phase of a signal (reference or generated), causing the phase-locked loop circuit to adjust the frequency of its voltage-controlled oscillator as it recovers a phase lock. The circuit times the duration of the recovery stage, from which the loop bandwidth may be obtained. Adjustments to the programmable portions of the phase-locked loop may then be made in accordance with design specifications.

  • Publication number: 20070179029
Abstract: Changing resistance patterns in an exercise machine is accomplished by moving a cable pivot point within a channel. The channel may take the form of numerous shapes. Multiple shapes may comprise one continuous channel. The placement of the pivot point and surrounding channel shape dictate the resistance pattern along the range of exercise motion. The pivot point is attached to two cables, one leading to a weight, the other leading to the user of the exercise machine.

  • Publication number: 20060259587
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a hierarchical data storage and retrieval system implemented using a computed statistically unique signature for the content of given computer data as its basis. The data storage and retrieval system can be used to catalog computer information for easy indexing and retrieval. The signature is computed by any number of techniques so long as it is able to produce a statistically unique signature, one example being the SHA-1 algorithm. The system is able to reduce the amount of data that is stored and the time required for retrieving the data. Provide a way to move electronic data in an encrypted secure manner that requires the complete data set being moved for decryption of the data. Even if a portion of the data is compromised that portion would still remain secure. The data is encrypted and separated into two or more portions all of which would be needed to decrypt the data.
