Abstract: A hair cutter with an improved blade assembly is described. The blade assembly includes a first blade, a second blade, a yoke coupled to the second blade, a blade guide between the first and second blade, a retainer, and a biasing mechanism. The biasing mechanism includes a base and at least one arm configured to interface with and move with the second blade. The retainer is positioned behind the second blade and engages the biasing mechanism. The retainer is further configure to receive a housing connector, allowing for coupling to a handle of the hair cutter.

Abstract: A hair cutter with an improved handle is described. The handle includes a neck and upper and lower housings that together form a surface with a gripping portion. The handle extends longitudinally from a cutting end to a handle or gripping end opposite a blade assembly at the cutting end. The gripping portion of the handle facilitates gripping and/or handling the handle. The location of the griping portion and the size relative to the handle allows for improved grasping for users. The neck is configured to deflect hair and/or debris away from the hair cutter and includes a shape and size relative to the handle allowing for reduced weight compared to a standard hair shield.

The hair clipper further includes a blade assembly coupled to a cutting end of the housing and a holder positioned within the cavity and proximate the opening. The hair clipper further includes a plurality of light sources, wherein each light source is received by the holder. The light sources are positioned to direct light through the opening and towards the cutting end of the housing.
