Patent number: 9611004Abstract: A one-wheeled vehicle may include electric motors, a self-balancing system, and steering mechanism, wherein the electric motors and self-balancing system are disposed within the wheel of the one-wheeled vehicle. A computational resource such as a microprocessor-based controller receives input signals indicative of operation of a twist throttle and brake, and produces signals to adjust the tilt angle relative to the acceleration and thereby reduce the need for a rider to lean forward or backwards.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2014Date of Patent: April 4, 2017Assignee: RYNO Motors, Inc.Inventors: Christopher J. Hoffmann, Anthony J. Ozrelic

Patent number: 8800697Abstract: A one-wheeled vehicle includes electric motors, a self-balancing system, and steering mechanism, wherein the electric motors and self-balancing system are disposed within the wheel of the one-wheeled vehicle. Side stirrup legs, which have foot pegs suitable for placement of a rider's feet while riding, are pivoted with respect to the wheel forks, such that the side stirrup legs may be rotated backwards and act as a kickstand for the one-wheeled vehicle. The side stirrup legs may be weighted with, for example, one or more batteries may be attached to the side stirrup legs to provide a weight distribution such that the one-wheeled vehicle does not fall forward when parked. A computational resource such as a microcontroller, or microprocessor-based controller, receives input signals indicative of operation of the twist throttle and brake, and responsive thereto produces signals to adjust the tilt angle relative to the acceleration and thereby reduce the need for a rider to lean forward or backwards.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2010Date of Patent: August 12, 2014Assignee: Ryno Motors, Inc.Inventors: Christopher J. Patent number: 5515655Abstract: A pier foundation system provides for a preformed building structure to be erected on site in a final position level to ground. The system includes first and second elongated cylindrical members telescopically engaged with one another defining a longitudinally extendable load bearing member with first and second ends. The second cylindrical member is installable extending below ground level. The first member includes a plurality of longitudinally spaced first apertures extending through diametrically opposed side walls. The second member includes a plurality of longitudinally spaced and equally angularly spaced second apertures extending through diametrically opposed side walls. The first and second cylindrical members are movable longitudinally and rotatably relative to one another to bring one of the first apertures into coaxial alignment with one of the second apertures.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 1994Date of Patent: May 14, 1996Assignee: Sloan Enterprises, Inc.Inventor: Christopher J. Patent number: 5328316Abstract: A storage and retrieval system includes a plurality of storage bins arranged in spaced fashion. An extraction mechanism is provided to engage an edge of the bin defined by a sidewall and a bottom of the bin for moving the bin with respect to a storage location and a shuttle device. The extraction mechanism is movable along a first path in either direction with respect to a longitudinal axis of an aisle. The extractor mechanism is extendable below the bottom of a bin in a rest position, such as at a storage location. When the extractor mechanism has reached a position adjacent to the outermost end limit of travel, a tab actuating mechanism is engaged to move upwardly extending tabs between an extended position and a retracted position.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 1992Date of Patent: July 12, 1994Inventor: Christopher J.
