    Abstract: Methods for reducing vibration or noise that is transmitted by or through a relatively thin, flat, rigid sheet of material such as a glass pane (e.g., the windshield of a vehicle) or metal panel are provided, wherein such a panel is provided with a material between the panel and a frame that is capable of causing attenuation of the noise or vibration propagating from the panel to the frame or vice versa. Such an assembly is especially useful for glazing in a vehicle for the purpose of improving acoustic comfort within the vehicle.
