  • Patent number: 11174696
Abstract: Blowout preventers having bodies with internal choke and kill line pass-through conduits are provided. In one embodiment, a blowout preventer body (42) includes a drill-through bore (44) extending through the blowout preventer body and a ram cavity (58) transverse to the drill-through bore. The blowout preventer body can also include choke and kill line conduits (136, 138) extending through the blowout preventer body, as well as choke and kill line access branch conduits (148, 150) extending between the choke and kill line conduits and the drill-through bore. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11098550
Abstract: Blowout preventers having bodies without flanged necks are provided. In one embodiment, a blowout preventer stack includes first and second blowout preventers having independent and separable main bodies, each including a bore and a ram cavity transverse to the bore. The lower end of the main body of the first blowout preventer is fastened directly to an upper end of the main body of the second blowout preventer without a flanged neck extending the bore between the ram cavities of the first and second blowout preventers. In some instances, the main bodies of the first and second blowout preventers include external connection flanges that extend laterally from ram cavity body portions of the main bodies so as to enable connection of the two main bodies along the sides of the main bodies away from their bores. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20190128085
Abstract: Components of drilling and production systems with wide flange bodies are provided. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a component (40, 124, 126, 128) of a wellhead assembly (18) or of a riser (16) of a drilling or production system, the component having a non-tubular main body (42, 130, 140) and a bore (44, 132, 144) extending axially through the main body to allow fluids to flow through the main body via the bore. Rather than having a flanged neck fixedly extending the bore from the main body with a connection flange below or above the main body, the component includes a lateral flange (50, 134, 146, 160) extending outwardly from an exterior surface of the main body such that the lateral flange is positioned alongside the main body. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9903173
Abstract: A subsea connection for a pressurized fluid flow path includes a body comprising a body flow path and a spool attachable to the body. The spool includes a spool flow path in fluid communication with the body flow path with the spool attached to the body and a corrosion resistant layer. A seal is also included and is actuatable against the corrosion resistant layer to form a seal between the body and the spool.

  • Publication number: 20180030791
Abstract: A lifting apparatus for subsea equipment and a method of installing subsea equipment for a subsea well. A lower marine riser package (LMRP) including elevator links that pivot on a load bearing structure located on the LMRP. An elevator link can include a stem coupled between a pivot loop and a crane loop releasably attachable to a crane block on a hoisting mechanism, such as a gantry crane. The elevator link can be configured to support at least some of the weight of the LMRP. The elevator links can be adjusted to a predetermined spacing between crane blocks by pivoting the elevator links on pivot points located on the load bearing structure.
