  • Publication number: 20110138330
Abstract: Displaying and navigating items in an ordered list within a graphical user interface for viewing and utilizing the data are disclosed. An ordered list of data items can be used to generate an icon that represents the contents of the list. The icon can comprise images that best represent the items in the ordered list by choosing images associated with the highest ranked items in the ordered list. When the ordered list is selected by selecting the icon with a pointing device or keyboard the icon transforms to display an image of a currently selected data item with navigational controls. The navigational controls can receive inputs from a pointing device or keyboard to allow a user to navigate or browse through the items in the list without having to open a new view.

  • Publication number: 20090297865
Abstract: A gypsum-containing panel and a method of making it are disclosed including at least one facing layer having a first polymer that is reinforced with reinforcing fibers and a gypsum core that has a second polymer in a second polymer matrix interwoven with a gypsum matrix. The first polymer in the facing layer and said second polymer matrix in said gypsum core form a continuous polymer matrix, and can be the same polymer material.

  • Publication number: 20090087616
Abstract: A coating method for gypsum board having a surface gypsum layer in which a polymer additive has been entrained including forming a gypsum board including the polymer additive entrained in a surface layer, application of a preferably acrylic primary coating, curing and drying the gypsum board, passing the gypsum board through a first roll coater wherein a second fluid coating is deposited over the primary layer of the dried, coated gypsum board in which the polymer additive has been entrained, the coating then being dried and cured, wherein the coating material of the primary coating forms a chemical bond with the polymer additive entrained in the surface layer of the gypsum board and the polymer of the primary coating forms a chemical bond with the second fluid coating.

  • Patent number: 6878321
Abstract: Gypsum board having inorganic fiber, preferably glass fiber, preferably glass fiber, includes providing face sheets which have been completely impregnated with a gypsum slurry so as to penetrate through said random interstices between the inorganic fibers and to thereby cover the board surfaces with gypsum slurry. The gypsum board product is formed by passing the wet gypsum board through a board forming station having double forming plates, an upper forming plate having at least a portion thereof being set at a predetermined angle relative to a lower forming plate and having a separation between the forming plates defining a predetermined dimension substantially equal to the desired thickness of the manufactured gypsum board product. The method provides a multilayer gypsum board having a polymeric compound added to unset gypsum so as to provide a gypsum board ready for finishing.

  • Patent number: 6866492
Abstract: A gypsum board forming device having a gypsum forming station including two laterally disposed edger shoes, and at least one laterally disposed edger bar clamping element on the edger bar. In one embodiment a laterally extending forming plate extends over the top surface of the formed gypsum board, the forming plate including a plurality of micropore conduits through which pressurized water is supplied to provide a film of smoothing water over the top surface of the gypsum board. In another embodiment the edger shoes have a flapper mechanism for retaining unset slurry skimmed off the surface of the gypsum board by the edger bar.

  • Patent number: 6524679
Abstract: A multilayer gypsum board having face sheets comprising inorganic fiber, preferably randomly oriented glass fiber, which have been completely impregnated with a gypsum slurry so as to penetrate through the random interstices between the inorganic fibers and to thereby coat the board surfaces with gypsum slurry. The multilayer gypsum board may have a polymeric compound added to unset gypsum the compound may comprise any of the following: polyacrylamide, polymethylacrylamide, polyvinyidene chloride (PVDC), polyamide, poly (hexamethylene adipamide), polyvinylchloride (PVC), polyethylene, cellulose acetate, polyisobutylene, polycarbonate, polypropylene, polystyrene, polychloroprene, styrene, butadiene, natural rubber, poly (2,6 dimethyl pentene oxide), poly (4-methyl-1-pentene) and polydimethyl siloxane.

  • Publication number: 20020187296
Abstract: A method of manufacture of multilayer gypsum board, and a multilayer gypsum board, having face sheets comprising randomly oriented inorganic or glass fibers completely impregnated with a gypsum slurry penetrating through the random interstices between the inorganic fibers and coating the board surfaces with gypsum slurry. Wet gypsum board passes through a board forming station having upper and lower forming plates, set at an angle relative to each other and being separated by a predetermined dimension substantially equal to the desired thickness of the manufactured gypsum board product. Additives in the gypsum, such as engineered polymers, provide for a better surface for coating. The gypsum board has a first layer of a mixture of set gypsum having an outer surface and the polymeric compound additive entrained therein and impregnated in a thin sheet of randomly aligned inorganic fibers to essentially encase the core gypsum within two facing layers.
