  • Patent number: 12586892
Abstract: An implantable radiating structure includes a directly excited element (“DEE”) that includes a top portion, a gap portion, and a bottom portion. The gap portion is between the top portion and the bottom portion. The top portion is coupled to the bottom portion via a connector, and the top portion, the gap portion, and the bottom portion of the DEE are planar. The implantable radiating structure also includes an indirectly excited element (“IEE”) radiatively coupled to the DEE. The IEE is positioned at an angle with respect to the DEE, and the DEE is orthogonal to the IEE. • Patent number: 9224197
Abstract: A system and method are provided for employing a unique optical roll scanning technique, scheme or process for detecting and identifying periodic surface defects associated with rolls usable in image production devices. An apparatus is provided for mounting the roll to implement an inspection technique that facilitates forming an image of a surface of the roll by rotating the roll through an entire cycle above a full width scanner device. The formed image of the surface of the scanned roll is filtered and analyzed particularly by applying a Fourier analysis technique, and/or by subjecting the filtered image data to a series of fast Fourier transforms (FFTs), potentially including 2D FFTs. The analysis process allows detected periodic defects in the formed image of the surface of the roll under analysis to be characterized by a magnitude of a response in a spatial frequency domain.

  • Patent number: 8831455
Abstract: Methods include moving a fuser assembly with respect to a medium at a fusing nip. The fuser assembly may be moved back and forth, axially in a media cross process direction for registration distribution. The system may be configured to move the fuser assembly different distances based on a deduction of a current location of a fuser member in view of a known driving motor speed, and a time elapsed after a change in signal state. Systems may incorporate one or two sensors, and may be configured for axial movement over a distance of 2 mm or a distance of 55 mm. signature.

  • Publication number: 20120263979
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for portable storage of disposable or rechargeable batteries are disclosed. The battery holder can have several battery compartments, each being suitable for securely holding a battery of a certain size. Additionally, the battery holder has visible indicia instructing a user as to how to orient the battery in the compartment depending on whether the battery is empty or full. Thus, the orientation of the battery in the holder signals battery's empty/full status to the user. The battery compartments can be arranged in one or more rows, circularly, or in a honeycomb orientation. The battery holder can be made of elastic material capable of securely keeping the battery in place. The battery compartments for round batteries can have a non-round cross section, thus enabling air escape from the compartment as the battery is inserted.

  • Publication number: 20070079668
Abstract: Safety Opener is a device having a toothed opening corresponding to the ridges of a standard twist off bottle cap. To use Safety Opener, a consumer simply places a twist off bottle cap attached to a bottle underneath the toothed opening. When the bottle opener or bottle is rotated in the appropriate direction, the twist off bottle cap will loosen. It can then easily be removed by hand.

  • Patent number: 5591082
Abstract: The throttle controller according to the invention includes a rectangular base having a shaft pivotally mounted thereon with a potentiometer having a stem connected to the shaft for sensing the position of the shaft. A cable is connected to the potentiometer for transmitting the sensed position to the video game. A handle is disposed along one side of the base and connected to a first end of the shaft for pivotally moving the shaft responsive to angular movement of the handle. The handle is comprised of two parts. A vertical handle member connected to the shaft and perpendicular thereto and a handle portion connected to the vertical handle member, which extends over the base and adapted to receive a user's hand. The shaft is mounted on the base by means of circular bearings that are received in a bearing mounts on the base. A braking mechanism is frictionally engaged with the shaft for adjusting the resistance of the handle to pivotal movement.
