  • Publication number: 20250079917
Abstract: An electric motor includes a stator and rotor. The stator includes a stator core defining a stator bore, and a plurality of windings having end turns extending from the stator core. This includes a central region configured to be disposed in the stator bore, and first and second end regions extending from the central region and aligned with the end turns of the plurality of windings. The rotor defines a cooling bore in fluid communication with a low-pressure cooling fluid source and includes a plurality of cooling jets in fluid communication with the cooling bore and disposed in the first and second end regions. The plurality of cooling jets extends radially outward such that each cooling jet is configured to pull cooling fluid through the cooling bore and eject cooling fluid toward the end turns in response to centrifugal force caused by rotation of the rotor within the stator bore.

  • Patent number: 12119725
Abstract: An electric machine includes a rotor extending along an axis and a stator lamination stack radially spaced from the rotor. The stator lamination stack has circumferentially spaced teeth defining gaps therebetween. The electric machine also includes a coil winding disposed in the gaps between the circumferentially spaced teeth and a guard plate disposed at one of the first and second stator ends. The guard plate extends radially away from the axis and includes a plurality of teeth guards extending radially, with each of the teeth guards aligned with one of the teeth of the stator lamination stack to electrically insulate the coil winding from the teeth of the stator lamination stack. The plurality of teeth of the stator lamination stack extend radially inward toward the axis and the teeth guards of the guard plate extend radially inward toward the axis.

  • Patent number: 11818831
Abstract: A heat exchanger for cooling high temperature components of a circuit board is disclosed. The heat exchanger may comprise a housing including a coolant inlet, a coolant outlet, a first side wall, a second side wall, and an upper housing portion assembled with a lower housing portion. The heat exchanger may further include a first array of plates on the upper housing portion, and a second array of plates on the lower housing portion extending parallel to and interleaved with the first array of plates. Each of the plates may have an aperture that is laterally and vertically opposed to the aperture of an immediately adjacent plate. The interleaving first and second arrays of plates may create a lateral and vertical serpentine fluid flow path.

  • Patent number: 11777360
Abstract: An electrically-assisted turbocharger includes a shaft extending along an axis, a compressor wheel, a turbine wheel, a housing, and an electric machine. The electric machine includes a rotor rotatably coupled to the shaft and a stator lamination stack radially spaced from the rotor.
