  • Publication number: 20250141085
Abstract: An antenna mountable to a window to provide non-destructive installation and removal therefrom. The antenna has a substrate of dielectric material having a first surface with patterned conductive material providing a main radiator and ground plane, and a back surface of patterned conductive material providing a feeding circuit, which capacitively conveys and receives, via the substrate, RF signals with the main radiator and ground plane. The main radiator and ground plane, and preferably the feeding circuit, are each radiating structures to achieve different frequency ranges, such as over VHF, UHF, and cellular bands, with wideband performance. The antenna is configured to resemble a semitransparent sunshade by the antenna body being perforated, through the front and back thereof, with holes enabling a majority of the antenna body to appear semitransparent for screening sunlight. One or more fixtures are utilized for detachably mounting the antenna along a surface of a window.

  • Patent number: 9393321
Abstract: An antenna array is provided having multiple antenna elements mountable to the roof of a locomotive. Each of the antenna elements has a separate signal path of one or more conductive elements in a housing and shares a common hole or opening to outside the housing through which the signal path of each antenna element is extendable. The signal path of each antenna element then extends via a common access hole in the roof of the locomotive for enabling one or more of passage of signals to or from the antenna element. The access hole is below the array when the common hole is along the bottom of the housing, and elsewhere along the roof when the common hole is along a side of the housing. Two of the antenna arrays may be mounted in a parallel relationship spaced from each other along the locomotive roof and share the same or a different access hole in such roof.

  • Patent number: 8933850
Abstract: A tri-band antenna (10) is provided having a pair of antenna elements (12, 14), in which the first antenna element (14) operates in a first UHF frequency band, and the second antenna element (12) operates in a second VHF band and a third cellular frequency band. The bottom end (12a, 14a) of each of the antenna elements (12, 14) is fixed into a first member (16) from which the antenna elements extend parallel and spaced apart from each other to their different respective heights. A second member (13) couples the antenna elements (12, 14) to each other at a distance from the first member (16) to adjust the operation of the tri-band antenna (10) in at least the UHF band. A base member (19) is provided for mounting the tri-band antenna (10) along a surface of a vehicle. A signal feed member (20) extends through the base member (19) and has one end (20a) attached to the first member (16) and another end (20b) providing a RF connector.
