  • Publication number: 20230037943
Abstract: A negative pressure wound therapy device can include a negative pressure source configured to be connected, via a fluid flow path, to a wound, a valve positioned in the fluid flow path and configured to, in an open state, permit supply of negative pressure from the negative pressure source upstream of the valve and, in a closed state, block supply of negative pressure from the negative pressure source upstream of the valve, a flow restrictor positioned in the fluid flow path, and a pressure sensor configured to measure a pressure differential across the flow restrictor. The device can include control circuitry configured to, in a normal operational mode, cause the valve to be in the open state and, in a test mode, perform at least one of a leak test, a flow test, or an excessive pressure test.

  • Patent number: 9568189
Abstract: A thermal reactor for producing usable heat energy by destroying waste including a vessel wherein organic waste upon entering said vessel gasifies as it falls onto a carbon bed and is transformed into a synthesis gas with high heat and kinetic energy that can be harnessed to produce electricity. Inorganic waste upon entering melts as it falls onto the carbon bed and exits via slag ports to form an inert slag. Because there is no oxygen present in the gasification zone, the waste is not combusted and neither furan or dioxin are formed. The waste includes either prepared refuse derived fuel (RDF) or unprepared raw waste or a combination thereof.

  • Publication number: 20130300121
Abstract: A method and system for the conversion of waste into energy in a sealed system where combustion does not take place and the operating pressure prior to the inlet of the steam or power generating equipment is maintained below atmospheric pressure. Destruction of the RDF (refuse derived fuel) is accomplished by subjecting the RDF to a high temperature environment under controlled conditions in a purpose designed and built reactor. The high temperature environment, <5000° C., is achieved through the use of one or more non-transferred plasma torches for generation of plasma gas. The plasma gas exiting the torch and provides the thermal energy for the continual gasification of metallurgic coke configured as a carbon bed in the lower part of the reactor, which acts as a thermal catalyst and this provides the thermal energy for the gasification process.

  • Patent number: 8518218
Abstract: A carbonization reactor to decompose used rubber products and the like by heating the rubber products under constant high temperature and the reactor comprise a conveyor which continuously move and drag the rubber products through cylinders where the decomposition process takes place to produce recyclable by products such as carbon black, oil vapor and the like.

  • Patent number: 8425731
Abstract: A carbonization process of rubber products, such as shredded waste tires, in a sealed carbonizing vessel whose operating pressure is below atmospheric pressure and under controlled high temperature environment while continuously being moved in a defined path at a controlled speed thus enabling the shredded tires to be fed constantly into the vessel while the by-products of the carbonization process are continually discharged.

  • Patent number: 7201292
Abstract: A liquid flow-restriction device has a plurality of flow-restriction passages connected to a common outlet. Each flow-restriction passage has a magnetically operable valve having a valve member movable between an open position and a closed position. The valves are operated by a common actuating element selectively positionable with respect to the valve members to open the valves. The actuating element is a permanent magnet. The device is simple and allows easy selection of a flow rate to a dilution dispenser.
